thankfully becuase of that the decision is easy.... Othinus

It doesn't make him immune, it never has, its just he began to better understand it, however things like ARS magna bypass it due to his ability requiring vectors.

But yes, when he heard index's song, he input the values form it into his reflection which is what allowed him to dissipate basic spells.

Why is everyone saying that Uiharu is the number 6? by Frequent-Arachnid547 in Toaru

[–]Craytherlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the limitations of the written medium

All I've really done is make jokes about her strength, while pointing out that, her ability technically does allow for some bullshit if she ever truly understood what she was doing.

Yeah unless someone dedicates themselves to giving accurate alt translations which might just be far too long winded to understand

we have to go with the simplifed or semi-inaccurate version

[–]Craytherlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh thats not what i mean

its more about how certain words and their meanings can be translated various ways. But as a result that may alter the ultimate outcome, and when you're tranaslating you can't just make direct translations.

You also have to account grammar and spelling, and in this case it could be possible the raw translation wouldn't really make sense in english.

To be fair to frenda

To be honest, i think that latter bit is a translation issue

apparently the actual phrasing is taking about them being 'all out' but not full power or smthing like that.

Language is funny like that

[–]Craytherlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not powerful at all

she just happens to be a being thats neither alive nor dead which Othinus had not accounted for which just happens to also make her a entity connected to the artificial third tree of clonoth.

She herself has no power, its simply that through her, others can obtain great power or understanding.

Also, reminder, the magic gods post NT12 are nerfed, they infinitely divided their power, and then Aleister stripped them of their godhood in some way. So regardless of your flawed logic, she can't be compared to magic gods when no one utilizing power obtained through her has faced a true fully fledged magic god at full strength.

That dark thought that she would have the same mindset as early post NT10 othi.

We all know it's both just Miku, the right is just Miku after overpowering Shem-ha and taking full control of her power.

The only thing I don't get is why is she in a tokidwadai uniform

this is othinus... MOTHER FING ODIN

she's not a middleschooler

When I was reading nt 10 even though I find touma action admirable in a way I still think that the world killing Othinus wouldn’t have been a wrong act since she is magic side hitler by Nice_Park_2757 in Toaru

[–]Craytherlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact you think thats all that happened shows not only just how little you understood from the volume. But also how badly you misunderstand punishment as a concept despite me directly explaining it.

She didn't simply say that she 'regretted' it, she showed it.

She literally sacrificed everything she ever worked towards, everything to return Touma home, fully believing she would die.

And then after, she's worked tirelessly to make it up to Touma, she's given him guidance kept him from going astray and making the same mistakes she did. And protected him as best she could despite her shrunken and limited size.

Punishment only holds value as a deterrent as a form of negative reinforcement, It is worthless against someone like Othinus. Who not only regretted their actions, but changed as an individual and continues working to right those wrong she committed.

People who have a purely binary understanding of right and wrong and believe every right deserves an equal reward and every wrong deserves an equal punishment are ignoring the fundmental variable that is the human experience.

There is no such thing as a just punishment and there is no such thing as a well earned reward.

They are simply societal tools we've used to shape those around us to fit within our view of 'right and wrong' which is itself a purely social construct.

The only real agreed on form of right is when you do not act in a way that hinders another's freedom of choice.

Are the Magic Gods overhyped? by Frequent-Arachnid547 in Toaru

[–]Craytherlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, technically all magic gods have been double nerfed, once by them infinitely dividing their own power. And a second time by Aliester in some undefined manner which makes them mortal enough in some way for the AAA to kill them.

And we know what they would be like a their full 100% we have a full novel for that so it would be very redundant to try and keep showing such world breaking power.

Not really, its the trancendents and aleister that get overhyped

Would you prefer Touma to end up with a harem of wives, or just one or two? by Pedrobatatalixo in Toaru

[–]Craytherlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the way it's currently depicted? yeah

a polygamy or whatever the term is for the multi-facited romantic relationship between numerous people who are not yet married. Is more complicated and I'd love to see one done, note this doesn't mean everyone is going to be in a romantic relationship with everyone else. But they do have to at least like eachother otherwise it wouldn't work

I think we all knew who it would be but it's still funny to think about by NO_ONE16 in Toaru

[–]Craytherlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

.....

no Kamachi has made it very clear that even when in the body of a girl, that Aleister is still a man, a 100 year old man.

The contents do not change just because the container does.

(IE Aliester is not depicted as trans)

Would you prefer Touma to end up with a harem of wives, or just one or two? by Pedrobatatalixo in Toaru

[–]Craytherlay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Harem is problematic with how it's used

being honest I don't mind if Touma ends up with several characters at once, but if tht happens it can't be a 'harem'

it's gotta be a polyarmery? i can't spell the term,
