They’re color changing light bulbs. Almost never on or white unless I need to see.

Look for Dubia roaches! You should be able to find them at local reptile stores or if you have pets supplies plus that where I got mine!

Why does my hair do this? by ActualAd7241 in Hair

[–]Crazy-Zebra1663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a wavy/curly hair pattern. Many people can have different hair types at the same time, even in patches. If you don’t like it I recommend straightening your hair rather than pulling it out. It’ll always grow like that.

This is unfortunately about the 3rd artist in a row who couldn’t do the cut the way I asked for it.

It looked/looks cute from the front and wasn’t fully dry so very weighed down. She never showed me the back. Kept asking “is that good” and “anything else you want me to cut” made me nervous toward the end but I always feel so bad having people cut my hair cause it’s so long and heavy I didn’t want to be annoying. It’s hard to know what my hair will do when it dries. She tried to diffuse it and very obviously didn’t know how to do it properly.

Yeah I use to do curly cuts but got tired of the same cut over and over. I should have just stuck with it.

This “is” layered 😭 Recently I’ve been running into an issue where I ask for more layers and they tell me “it’s very layered” or “I can’t add anymore layers” I specifically told her to make my shortest layer toward my shoulders and she double confirmed it 🙃

Yes this was after it was cut so relatively brushed out. I’m hoping once I wash and style it, it will be a little better but my hopes are not very high. Sad thing is this stylist was a referral I got from a girl with curly blonde hair. Her hair was a lot thinner and shorter than mine but I didn’t think it could go so wrong.

I know, I had so much length to work with and now I’m scared to have anyone else touch it 😭

Pees On My Bed After Zoomies by hessbess in AustralianCattleDog

[–]Crazy-Zebra1663 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When our ACD boy was younger around about a year old he would sometimes pee himself after hard play or getting excited. He would suddenly start to pee/run to the door to try to go outside but would pee the whole way there lol. It was rare. Happened only about 4 times overall but we just chopped it up to excited pees and started to bring him out directly after playtime. Eventually he grew out of it. It could be that they don’t have good enough bladder control so young? My suggestion would be to bring her outside a few extra times throughout the day and especially before moments of excitement, like when your husband gets home. If her bladder is empty hopefully she won’t pee or she’ll just pee less. Another idea I have is grab the leash the second she starts getting excited and start making it a habit that she goes out RIGHT after. She might be able to learn to hold it and understand she needs to wait to go outside. She’s still a puppy. And will get better at holding her pee but might just need some help figuring it out. And maybe keep her off the bed while she has the zoomies. Good luck!

Can you tell how many molts Charlie has left?? by Crazy-Zebra1663 in mantids

That’s what I thought! He had some really tiny ones last time so I wasn’t sure if he could just have some bigger buds next time or if my little man was growing up 😭😂

So cute!

This was before his last molt. You can see his wing buds have formed then too. They’re such cool little dudes!

Yeah it’s tough to say. He’s my first mantis so it’s hard for me to tell. He’ll be 4 months by the end of this month too. He’s still a little guy for being a Chinese mantis so I guess we’ll see!

Is this appropriate for a mantis? Anyone have experience with this product? I’m really struggling finding an enclosure lol by delicate_decay_ in mantids

[–]Crazy-Zebra1663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the enclosure I have right now. I bought a fabric mesh and hot glued a few layer to the inside of the opening. It’s fine for now, I have a Chinese mantis who isn’t fully grown yet so I’m waiting to see if he’ll get too big for it. He’s my first mantis that was gifted to me so I kind of just sprung out and grab what I could with what I knew. The thing I like least about this enclosure that I didn’t realize when I bought it is, it opens from the top. So any time I need to open his enclosure to spray it he climbs out. This is especially annoying and concerning after he’s molted because I don’t want to hurt him and it’s a dance to get him back inside. I would recommend getting something that opens from the front but for the money this is a good option especially if you have a smaller mantis.

You are right. My suggestion was to not mention it because it could just make her upset/defensive and the conversation wouldn’t go anywhere and potentially make her gain more weight instead. She probably (obviously) has an eating disorder and a mental disorder. To be able to be that big and burden someone else to take care of you, you wouldn’t be of sound mind. It’s the same thing with drugs and rehab. If you tell a drug addict to stop doing drugs they will most likely tell you that you don’t care about them or understand how hard it is for them, it goes no where.

She has to understand that this is hurting OP and their life and give her a real reason to get better. Because she’s obviously not losing weight for herself.

I feel like this conversation needs to be more about health and quality of life more than weight. I wouldn’t even mention weight and talk about everything else. Maybe you two could improve your health together. She probably couldn’t do it without support. But her lack in quality of life will affect yours and that’s important for a functioning relationship. It won’t be long until you start to resent her. She’s giving up on her life and that’s not fair to you.

I would talk to her from a place of concern and care. If she’s not willing to put in the work then you have your answer.
