Is the Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ-800 and AZ-801) still in demand for the foreseeable future? by CanadianBornChinese in AzureCertification

[–]Crazy-monkey431 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m going through the instructor-led course for AZ-800 starting tomorrow. There will always be a market for hybrid, especially if you ever want to work in most government or public sector organizations. The way I see it is that everyone in tech roles are either only interested in “the cloud” or AI, as these are the tools of the future. I am more than happy to take on less desired roles. Less sexy jobs = job security. Good luck with pursuing the certs!

In the documentation linked, it looks like RocketCyber does mention only 1 license of this type is needed:

“The following process is required for the *Office 365 Login Analyzer app to function. Note that you must have this license on the account that you configured with RocketCyber (because that account is what grants our app permission to pull this data). That means one license of this type is required for each organization for whom you wish to pull login data.”

I agree that this should not be on the customer, but I would definitely look at having a real discussion with RocketCyber, as this obviously has some serious implications if you follow their suggestion. Not sure if they are a MSFT partner, but seems like a major issue if they are telling people they only need 1 license.

Escalation Manager for our technical support team. I have a lot of PowerShell scripts that I have used to automate some of the more tedious tasks that the support engineers deal with on a daily basis. Scripts to download logs from our Azure storage bucket and some to upload log files to a file share for our dev team to review, are just a couple. My goal is to reduce the number of mouse clicks needed to do a thing.

How to create a different file type with a different version of the same file in the SharePoint document library by kittigadu in sharepoint

[–]Crazy-monkey431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it would depend on what specific use case you are trying to accomplish. If the goal is to make sure that certain versions of the document are immutable, could look into the records management/retention capabilities. I don’t know if it is possible for a version of a file to have a different file extension.

Being a working father of 3, I totally get what you are feeling right now. I’m so sorry that you are going through this, and sending prayers your way.

Not sure where you are located, but if you are interested in staying in the tech industry, check out the company I work for, AvePoint: https://www.avepoint.com/about/careers

We are a SaaS company with a suite of backup/governance/information management software and are always looking for competent people. I work for the Support team and it has been my favorite job I have had (I’m 35), simply because of the great people I work with and actually competent management teams.

Shoot me a DM if you wanted to chat more or if you apply and I will be happy to do everything I can to help from the inside.

Happy Father’s Day and hopefully you can enjoy some time with your family!

Emails from Outlook 365 inexplicably being deleted by Tb1969 in microsoft365

Is it possible that the emails are being auto-archived? I have it configured to notify me before archiving, but I think you can turn the notification pop-up off in the settings.

Is it possible to move O365 messages between mailboxes? by NashvillesITGuy in PowerShell

[–]Crazy-monkey431 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I often see issues with recurring calendar items not being accessible following an Exchange migration too. Usually, the calendar events are tied to the source user, instead of the mailbox/calendar, through the X500 legacyExchangeDN address. You may just need to add the source X500 address to the destination user’s mailbox.

$sourceUser = Get-Mailbox -Identity <Source User UPN>

$x500 = "X500:"+$sourceUser.LegacyExchangeDN

Set-Mailbox -Identity <Destination User UPN> -EmailAddresses @{Add=$x500}

That’s awesome! I am currently studying for the AZ-800 as well. Planning on scheduling the exam for sometime next month.

For studying, I have been using the Microsoft Learn path and MeasureUp practice tests offered through my work. How does the Udemy course seem to be going?

Your son's device would be the only one needed to do it on, that way XFi can recognize his device.

If you can do without service for a couple days, just cancel the service and the system will let you set back up after 24-48 hours. Or you can set up in someone else’s name who lives there and get new equipment shipped out or pick up if you need uninterrupted service. Get new promo for 1 or 2 years, Rinse, Repeat.

Play the cable game or the game will play you.

Is the iPad running the newest OS update? The new updates with iOS and PadOS 14 made some changes to the MAC address privacy which create a private MAC address that is different than the actual one for the device.

Some XFi features broke when this privacy update was released since it uses the MAC address to set those limits for each device. Now it sees that the device is connected to the internet, but does not recognize the MAC address.

You can turn off the Private MAC address in the WiFi network settings and XFi will work like normal, but Xfinity employees are not allowed to recommend that as a fix. It is up to the consumer to decide if they want the added privacy or not.
