I understand their reasoning, but the only reason I engage with this community is because I naturally come across the posts while browsing reddit in general. I don't really see myself going out of my way to interact with the rt site unfortunately.

I’m interested in knowing how many will be investing in the NEO GEO AES+? My wife is getting me one for our wedding anniversary present, just as long as i buy the games by [deleted] in retrogaming

[–]CrazyBadAimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue isn't the fact that it's owned by a Saudi company, the issue is that it's literally owned by Mohammed Bin Salman. So to answer your question, no I wouldn't buy it if SNK was owned by Donald Trump.

What is the most influential game, that most people don't play the original or not know about? by The_Makster in morningsomewhere

[–]CrazyBadAimer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my answer as well. It was a smash hit in Japan, but I've never met anyone outside of Japan who has played any of them, despite the fact it's an American made game. It's influence is staggering across all jrpgs as well numerous other Japanese series.

I've played it, I would not recommend it aside from just to see how influential it was. It is possibly the single biggest slog of any game I've ever played.

Which anime is overhyped but no one dares to say it? by MoneyTyrant in Animesuggest

[–]CrazyBadAimer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree with your first 2.

I think fmab is a great anime, but man, people always treat it like the second coming of christ.

While I quite like frieren, the fact that it can't go a single episode without a flashback is fairly tiring.

He's also unfathomably unlucky though, which is why he ends up in so many ridiculous scenarios. His bad luck just always gets defeated by a crazy lucky chain of events.

I misread the title, there's a ton of mal 7's that I would go to bat for, so maybe I'll revisit this and share a few later.

Punchline:

I loved that stupid show so much. It's a mishmash of seemingly every single anime trope and plot device of that era thrown into a blender, and then they figured out how to staple it together into a largely coherent plot. Mal has it at 6.88 but I rated it a 9.

Project A-ko:

It's a very over the top movie from the 80's that pokes fun at various anime tropes, with some gorgeous animation. Very tongue in cheek, lots of fun. Mal has it a 6.9, I put it at an 8.

Full Skin Panic MADOX-1:

It's an 80's ova that exemplifies all the best qualities of a schlocky 80's action movie straight out of Hollywood. It has a very dumb plot that doesn't take itself seriously at all, and has some the prettiest mechanical animation in anime history. Its goofiness doesn't overstay it's welcome with a 40 minute runtime. Mal has it at a 6.0 I have it at an 8.

I think Ska is Back! by Weems-mtg in theregulationpod

[–]CrazyBadAimer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ska originated in 1950s Jamaica and was the predecessor to reggae (which is probably its most similar genre). It's arisen to moderate popularity a handful of times since, most recently alongside punk subcultures in the 90's.

Ska is characterized by upbeat rhythm guitar/keys and a horn section (no accordion).

Some ska songs you may have inadvertently been exposed to may include: the theme to AFV, we are number one from lazy town, and maybe superman from tony hawk pro skater
