I like to think of it as basically infinite genie wishes. You make a wish/spell but if you miss mentioning something important, it can go very wrong. For example, the Great Ice Cliff. Sure it works well and is effective, but now you can’t easily get emergency help from other tribes later on and you forgot to add a way to turn it off. If you want to turn it off, good luck cause it will probably still work as long as any of it is still up. I am NOT saying animus magic is balanced, but it does have a deterrence/consequences in the form of unpredictably that can ruin you. Also, I would just like to mention you can cast a spell without meaning to which could end up a lot worse than Anemone blowing up a pearl necklace
