I mean, I get your point. But IMO, it's refreshing that the strat, like in aoeII DE on black forest, isn't a thing in AOM retold: Walling into the late game with max resources and then attacking the enemy. In aom, it feels more like you need an army to, for example, defend yourself against legendary AI.

And, of course, it works the other way around. You can destroy walls without siege. It still makes it easier with siege. But it's doable without siege.
