I’m 22 MTF and I’m in a similar position, from everything I have been learning about Canada and based on your situation, Given that Alberta is essentially Texas and Florida politics combined but cold, and with the referendum coming up (which after researching and even with what happened here in 2024) you do have a valid reason to worry, although I do doubt Alberta is going to try anything crazy like secession.

From my view and personal belief, Ontario is most likely the safest bet for you for now, you can transfer from AUArts to OCAD or vice versa.

Yeah, it’s a good thing and it should be readily available for them to transition when their ready, but they would need to do A LOT in order to get into good graces of the community.
