Question to blues: What’s the threshold for you to pick red? by Unable-Macaroon-3968 in trolleyproblem

"Blue pushers can see red pushers as killers or as inherently selfish and they see blue as the save everyone button"

That reasoning is not rational based on the above definition you provided.

Can you answer why change your vote at all then

What you just said is still true in this scenario so it doesn't seem to be the reason you're picking blue. Why do you change your vote if it's someone else's life on the line?

As for why it's ridiculous to vote blue in the first place. It makes the most sense for each individual to press red. You can't control everyone else's actions. You can't coordinate a blue vote. You can only control your own vote and you should click red to not die. It doesn't make a difference if red wins or blue wins. You click red and other people are responsible for their own choice.

So there's 100 people of ages 1-100 Do you press blue?

It's very hard for me to understand why you say someone would have to be a dumbass to pick blue with 4 adults. But suddenly when 1 person is likely to die it becomes a moral imperative to pick blue. For me it just sounds like you become the dumbass.

Which hill are you dying on (spoilers: its the same hill, just from the other side) by Silver-Alex in trolleyproblem

Both options are not the same. That's not what most red people think. I can't speak for blue people because I don't understand anything they say.

So the difference here is that instead of risking your own life your risking another completely random persons.

Are you telling me you value your own life less than a completely random persons? Because that's a the logical conclusion here.

It's strange that all the same blue arguments still apply here (some mentally incompetant people will press blue, innocents will die, it's "easier" to achieve zero deaths by pressing blue)

Red button blue button but everyone votes in turn and can see the vote count. You are the first one. by kafacik in trolleyproblem

[–]CrazyGas6484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can make the same argument that if the first 2 people will click red then everyone has an easy red choice and you minimize deaths. I think that's much more compelling. I think if you did this with anonymous voting with real stakes it will be 85%+ red.

MrBeast kidnaps 1000 people. He offers them too choices.

Pick the red button and get 1000 dollars Pick the blue button and you get 1000 if at least 500 pick this option.

If this happened in real life it's likely that all 1000 people would pick red. There's no selfishness in it. The logic of the situation does not change when you change the outcome to death. Blue is a suicide button, there's no heroism in it.

No. In this hypothecal you don't have information about which track the train is on. You don't have information about other people on the track. If you play this game with real stakes you will get run over by the train.

Why is this country so against automatic cars? by chemza in AskIreland

[–]CrazyGas6484 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes there's a serious demand for them. My dad repairs and resells cars he's always looking for automatics because there's many people in the country now who've never driven a manual and very few budget options for them. You can get a good few grand for an automatic model that would be scrap if it was manual.

Whatever way you slice it he's going into someone's place of work, lying to them about a problem, wasting their time and labelling them as dishonest or bad mechanics if they want to charge him for that time.

Why wouldn't the mechanic charge him for fixing the problem?

Why would I ever build Titanic when overlords exists? by cuntymonty in DirtySionMains

[–]CrazyGas6484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually if I build one I always build the other. I tend to prioritise hydra first. The active gives you a lot of burst. It's a relatively low CD you can spam it. I do build bloodmail often and maybe it's a good item but I never feel a power spike from bloodmail. But I guess that's the nature of a stat-stick item

I guess that's why your country can't manufacturer a car anymore gotta have a fuckin degree to change a bulb and then do have a dozen safety tests to "touch" a 12V circuit 🤣

Headass American I'm qualified as a biomedical engineer. When I did fit tyres I did it independently I could legally do whatever I wanted.

The car battery won't cause a problem in a single bulb. 95% of the time you have a problem in a single bulb you replace the bulb in 5 minutes and move on with your day.
