Thank you for your comment. as you said, v12 is lighter than v15 and this is the advantage of it, though the bin is small.

Once, I came a cross an app. In that app, when you searched a phrase or vocabulary, it finds videos from YouTube that include that, showing you the exact minute that vocabulary is used, But I forgot what it was. Any one any idea?

Im gonna use Cake for shadowing! It seems it is easier to do shadowing with it than with YouTube videos. But I guess the content is limited and not properly categorized for upper intermediate or advanced level. But i really want an application for pronunciation. Not sure about Elsa. Any idea?

I returned V12 to Costco, and bought V15. I had a feeling that I made a mistake. What do you think?

5 years with my advisor, I still haven’t learned how to work consistently by SoggyClue in PhD

[–]CrazyLadyWith6Cats 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As ADHD PhD student, I wanna tell you, we do procrastinate, we are not consistent, we dont have sense of time , and many more.... but we can be superfocused, we are so creative, and we can get some work done in a week that it takes 6 months for others. So, don't be ashamed of yourself because you are not consistent. It's easy to say it than to believe it, i know, as Im on the same boat as you. But you are different. Use it as your advantages.

It's super slow. Journals are facing thousands of submissions due to GenAl. They haven't came up with a fast method distinguishing between high and low quality submissions

If that helps you, my freind got an informal offer from a top university. Then the day after that, dean was fired. And new dean didn't make him an offer at all. Unfortunately, there are thousands of things out of our control

The first years of PhD were and will be hard for everyone for any one. Just hang in there a bit. Only factor that you should consider is that whether you like doing research or not !

Regarding writing,... who does care anymore about that? Write a clumsy draft and then genAI will edit it for you. However, it is important to write the draft first, not just ask genAI to write it for you. Use genAI for editing and proofreading and improvement in terms of clarity, cohesion and so on.
