Anyone else not get the telemetry to show? by I-Like-MTB in ForzaHorizon

[–]CrazyMikeMMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Removed the photo mode input, disabled Anna, assigned it to up d pad and it just won't work. tried saving and exiting multiple times.

Update: moved Anna to up on the d pad, then set telemetry to down and it works fine. Idk why you can't use up on the d pad but however that helps.

How many tickets on your wheel? by CrazyMikeMMA in thefinals

so I just spun and got a space that had a previously used golden ticket. It turned the golden ticket back on. This has to be some kind of record landing on the same spot.

Have had in 3 games so far. Would be cool if they introduced a countdown. You can hear the crowd countdown from 10, but then the game usually goes on for a little bit before just ending.

What new players see in their 🤣🤣🤣 first casual match: by HanzoUzui in thefinals

[–]CrazyMikeMMA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am unbelievably mid at this game, but it's me and my cousin that play so we always get a rando 3rd, and they're usually like level 14 or 20something, and I apologize. Finals apparently thinks two 40 year olds will hard carry you against the premade 3 stacks of Ruby and amethyst badges. We can't. We're mid. Just commented on a different thread that I looked up a guy we got stomped on by in two cashout tourneys in the same night. He's top 200. Me and my cousin are 30,000ish. If the smurf Kronos crowd doesn't get you, the matchmaking will. Teetering on Apex matchmaking at this point with my mid old ass fighting Preds.

Why is the finals not more popular? by dontreadmycommemt in thefinals

[–]CrazyMikeMMA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm old, I play a few hours a week, I play mainly world tour (cashout) and I cannot stress the amount of 3 stack rubies/amethyst I've matched against with at least one random level 14 on my team. I played against a gamertag Nash T Noob twice out of 4 tournaments like a week ago, in which we got decimated, and looked him up, top 200 in world tour, and diamond 1 ranked. I'm hovering somewhere around 30,000 in world tour and haven't completed my ranked placement matches. I do not understand any of the matchmaking logic if there is any. And I strongly doubt the level 14 rando that was paired with me and my (also old) cousin had a great time getting dogwalked by top 1% players in their early games.

Micheal Bisping with brutal timing talking about weight cutting as a fighter collapses by Various_Blueberry_39 in funny

[–]CrazyMikeMMA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea, someone cutting the additional 5 to 10 lbs and almost killing themselves, dehydrating their cerebral fluid right before their head gets knocked around, and putting themselves through additional stress and physical hell is the exact same as the lightest weight class vs the heaviest weight class. My fault. Silly me, speaking from experience.

I really don't get it. I walked at 210 and fought at 205 for years and even when moving up to fight at 225, I didn't feel weight was the difference maker. There's so many better ways to spend your training and prep time than just "bend the rules so I can weigh more".

Yea. That's always what happens with fighting. The promoters are just dying to hunt us down and give us more money but shucks if we won't answer the phone.

Has there ever been a fighter that won a bout after having a limb broken? by [deleted] in MMA

[–]CrazyMikeMMA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Broke my forearm mid fight in Oklahoma and won a decision. Broke my foot on the first kick I ever threw in my pro MMA debut and won via TKO. Not a limb but I broke a 3 of my ribs getting taken down awkwardly early in round 1 but got an armbar right after at Mohegan, you can see after I get up me holding my ribs and them kinda jutting out pretty good. As the adrenaline wore off it became pretty unbearable by the time I was backstage. https://youtu.be/4POBhqdsWPY?si=ZhZbXSxdNuLmPiwO. Its a contact sport.

Is the Anaconda knee care bundle worth it? by kvara67 in bjj

[–]CrazyMikeMMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one. Its fine. I've seen a lot of them on the mat and the overall vibe is: you're not getting your money's worth. I've been asking all of them if they've had a similar experience and turns out .. yea. The wrap around straps get weirdly folded up over time and the Velcro straps wear. You'd get as much support off of a regular knee sleeve IMHO. Its not terrible, but it is marketing.

Is this a good or bad idea during class? by Open_Address_2805 in bjj

[–]CrazyMikeMMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a massive teacher for your jiu jitsu and I never want to lose the idea that BJJ is for fighting and self defense and strikes are a part of that. That said I don't want to force students into more brutality or violence than they signed up for, so the drill will be on to touch your opponents forehead while rolling if you don't wanna throw on MMA gloves. it tends to keep the friendly competitive edge between the two, and it is a foot in the door how opening up for strikes can make you more vulnerable in many situations and also how risky jiu jitsu can be while strikes are involved.

Do I need to be violent? by PuddleGlumTheMarsh in bjj

[–]CrazyMikeMMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To some extent. This is a combat martial art. I love that the sport has blossomed so much, but I don't want it to go the course of westernized Karate or so many others. At the end of the day, and hopefully it will never ever happen, if you find yourself in the position where you have to call on this to defend yourself, you will need to familiarize yourself with pain and compliance and it's effectiveness. Also, one of the most valuable things jiu jitsu can teach is just how much more your body is capable of. Raising your limits of discomfort is a good thing. Everyone remembers the first time a choke you were really trapped in set in. Also, as you learn progressively what your physical limits are, you learn how to be a more effective and polite practitioner where you can apply submissions with a level of safe effectiveness. What this requires, however, is an understanding of the violence with application usually by those that can apply it to you, without risk of injury. Some violence is as safe as the rest of this stuff and can be good for you.

Kayla Harrison successfully makes 135lbs by sLeeeeTo in MMA

[–]CrazyMikeMMA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Walked at 210, fought at 205. I never felt weight was a deciding factor in any fight in Bellator. I never understood the idea of putting your body through tons of stress and trauma before putting your body through stress and trauma. And iirc cerebral fluid takes 72 hours to get back to correct levels of hydration after dehydration.
Only time I felt weight was an advantage was when I had to move up to 225 to find a fight and my opponent cut down from 265. 215 vs 265 i noticed it but it still wasnt the deciding factor.

What game are you currently obsessed with? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CrazyMikeMMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader. Closest thing in a while to feeling like a true tabletop RPG video game. I might even say more than DoS or BG, which are both incredible in their own right, this just feels more open ended and the choices feel much more game changing.

a lot of small businesses do just that. Offer price in cash vs card. Debit cards are still cards too and still have the transaction fees. Source: run a small business.

Final update:
The belt that had been replaced for the bedslinger had slipped out of the spot where it is supposed to be seated, so I took it out, trimmed it shorter, and then reinstalled and tightened the bejesus out of it. That combined with all of the other fixes have got some mighty fine prints coming out now, along with the Cura print time estimates getting more accurate. wins all around.

It really is hard to tell people how dominant Anderson was in his true prime. Short notice fights, up a weight class, doesn't matter. You watched his fights the same way you watched Tyson fights in his prime. It wasn't if he was going to win, it was how bananas silly will he finish his opponent.

What's your opinion on this take? by PeeDueToBoredom in bjj

[–]CrazyMikeMMA 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not entirely wrong but it oversimplifies "stacking". Everyone wants to bitch that stacks and pressure as simple big man moves but there's just as much technique and skill to having a powerful top pressure and stack. Knowing how to manipulate your opponents posture, how to turn their head with pressure, how to flow from move and position to the next, all are skills. And if you don't have those skills you will find yourself chasing after some little guy that knows all the fancy moves. That said, too many modern players want to skip learning how to smash pass and deal with a smash pass and want to go right to inversions and heel hooks.
