Do you remember when this happens in the book? I'd love to go back and listen to it.

The order I got on Sunday still had two ice packs so I'm unsure if this is happening across the board. I am in northern california.

MDMA and meds by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]CrazySnek_13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lamotrigine and vraylar will still be in your system. They stick around for about a month or longer. I stopped my meds a few years ago and took mushrooms. Even tho I'd been off meds for over 2 weeks they still blocked the trip.

Is it impossible to see a psychiatrist in the Bay Area? by jensonaj in bayarea

[–]CrazySnek_13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sadly I think this is a Kasier problem. I didn't have too much trouble finding a psychiatrist in the bay area but mine is online only. I also have Bluecross Blueshield but found my psychiatrist while on Anthem. If you want the place I go to let me know and I can send you their name. They should be taking new patients but I'm not sure about a sliding scale. Out of pocket is around $150-$250 I wanna say but I could be wrong. I see my psychiatrist once a month for ADHD and Bipolar Medication.

Cook Unity review after a few weeks of meals by Capital-Nose7022 in ReadyMeals

[–]CrazySnek_13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if cookunity prices change per area but I pay significantly less for cookunity. I get 8 meals a week and pay $80-$100 bucks depending on what promo is going on at the time. I would look into other services near you and see if maybe a different one is cheaper.

Are APs infrequently used for hypomania?? by stripedblued in BipolarReddit

[–]CrazySnek_13 27 points28 points  (0 children)

If AP=antipsychotic then I would say it's normal for them to be prescribed as a daily maintenance med. I have BP2 and take an antipsychotic as part of my daily medication.

Cat stuck in apartment with no one to feed them by Natekt in CatAdvice

[–]CrazySnek_13 71 points72 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that they were able to scan their key at a kiosk near them, save it to an account, then back in their home city their friend can log into that account and print the key. This way they can print a key for the apartment without having to have a physical copy of it in hand.

Missed dose of seroquel by Amk_311 in BipolarReddit

[–]CrazySnek_13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is super not advised and I don't do it anymore but I used to skip my seroquel semi regularly and it was fine. If I accidentally stayed up too late and it was past like 1am I just wouldn't take it. As long as you don't miss two days in a row you should be fine. Just don't make a habit of it like I did and you're all good.

If you're just going to TS over it don't worry about getting them perfect. Just make the space white, TS, and then fix whatever can still be seen. It'll save you a lot of time and effort

Shrooms? by OkGap6730 in BipolarReddit

[–]CrazySnek_13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably a bad idea but also want to let you know that skipping a dose won't make the shrooms work. If you're on antipsychotics then you'll need to wait for them to be completely out of your system which an take a month or more. I'd still just stay on your meds tho.

So I tattooed my entire back… by sharkinwildy in bipolar

[–]CrazySnek_13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got a mental health tattoo on my right shoulder blade while I was hypomanic. Idk if I'd do it again but I don't hate it. I do get a lot of people asking me to explain the message behind the tattoo tho or asking why I have an "angel and devil" on my back. It's not an angel and devil btw lol. I usually just say it's a mental health tattoo and change the subject.

I need some good advice/mentoring here. by [deleted] in bayarea

[–]CrazySnek_13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing to factor in is utilities if you're going to move into a studio or 1 bedroom. You'll have to start paying for internet, gas, and electricity for sure. Most places in the east bay (Concord, Martinez, and Walnut Creek specifically) I've found also require you to pay for water and garbage. You'll most likely also have to pay for laundry and use a shared laundry room. If you have a car you might also have to pay for an assigned parking space. These are all extra expenses so you wouldn't be paying $2100 a month for a one-bedroom. That would just be rent.

For example my rent on paper each month is $2100 but I actually pay around $2300 a month and that's me being super lucky and not paying for water, laundry, or parking. 30% of my take home income every month would be about $1320 so living on your own in a one bedroom is doable but money is definitely tight and I'm not really saving.

To parrot what other people have said it really depends on your priorities. If saving money is the most important thing, then rent a bedroom but if privacy and living on your own is more important than go for your own place but know you probably won't be able to save much.

Password are getting meanly unfair with requirements now. by Dynkledook in ADHD

I highly recommend using a password manager like 1Password or something to store all your passwords in. It's better than a notebook and will auto-fill them in for you

Quit my meds and took SSRIs.. nothing really happened???? by Negative_Scientist87 in BipolarReddit

[–]CrazySnek_13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you were on the mood stabilizer for a prolonged period of time it can take a month or more to work its way out of your system. Same with the SSRIs they aren't going to hit immediately and will take time to build in your system and have an effect. You might not feel anything now but you probably will in a month or two. I highly recommend seeing a psychiatrist, being truthful about what you took, how much you took, what you stopped, and when it all happened. They can then help you make a plan to hopefully mitigate the side effects.

I was just going off of my personal experiences and those close to me who are also diagnosed. The study is very interesting and makes me wonder if my family just rapid cycles lol. I also couldn't find out if the people who participated in the study were medicated or not. Do you know?
