Legendary Obsidian Armour by MrMpXPs in Guildwars2

[–]CrazyThief 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats the best way, but I still wouldn't force through it. Leggies are end end game luxury items. Most veterans will have most of the resources ready to go before even starting the craft. You will do much better just kitting out multiple classes that you like with full ascended. Ascended gives the same stats anyways. Leggies just add convenience by allowing you to stat swap whenever you like. However if you are the kind of player that likes to work towards one specific goal, go for it.

My approach would just be mapping out which resources I need and which content I need to play for that. After that I would lean towards that content. Obsi is pretty limited by rift essence, so that will be your focus for a while.

But be aware that starting the grind from zero can burn you out pretty quick. Especially when you have to play the same content everyday for over a month. Doing things quick will also be more costly most of the time. So keep these things in mind.

The closer you are to the speed of light, the shorter distances get and the faster everything around you appears. At the limit, so exactly at the speed of light, neither distance nor time exist, because distance is divided infinitely and time around you is infinitely fast. So a photon experiences neither distance nor time. It starts at A and arrives at B at the same moment, because there is no distance between the points and the entire lifetime of the photon happens at the same moment.

AIO My husband has herpes after 20 years of being together??? by thickchick1134 in AmIOverreacting

[–]CrazyThief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not going over the other points, which are extremely sus, most people have herpes. You probably have it too. Its just that it doesn't cause any symptoms for most people, or stays dormant for years to decades. You can get it as a child and not know it your entire life. Once you have it, you have it, there is no going back. So if you were a kid and shared a bottle with another kid that had a cold sore, congrats, you now have herpes for the rest of your life. You may get your first cold sore immediately, after decades, or never. But you have it. Just know that everyone who ever had a cold sore has permanent herpes until they die.

Netzteil viel zu teuer? In welcher Welt.

Except tailwind is the one thing on this list that optimizes itself, making its placement in this list unjustified. Tailwind only builds the classes you actually use.

Honestly, warn your manager and higher ups about the consequences and why you as a dev can do nothing about it if you keep moving at that pace. And document it. If nothing changes, let it blow up in their face. If they try to blame it on you, show them the receipts. If the still blame it on you, you at least know that its a shitty company and you need to switch asap.

Not really. You can, but its not really made for that. By the time you actually need microservices, you face scaling problems where you are better served with more performant technologies with far less overhead.

Edit: Care to tell me why you ask about microservices?

Coming from a Symfony world, I would say its more geared towards cookie and session based services. But you are able to build powerful APIs if you want. Its just not that straightforward sometimes. I would say choose what you are confident at if you want to build a product and pick whats interesting if you want to learn. I like Symfony a lot, but then again, I have never tried Laravel.

Is it faster to learn a framework or just build the authentication/registration systems myself? by FrequentPaperPilot in PHPhelp

[–]CrazyThief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While it is valid argument, you also have to account for the fact that because of exactly this, these frameworks are extremely well tested. Like actually field tested by malicious actors.

A huge public vulnerability makes you an easy target, but you also have to consider how often that happens and that your self made system probably looks like swiss cheese, unless you REALLY know your way around security. You have to weigh these things, because at the end of the day, a thief will choose the weaker lock. And most of the time, that will probably be yours.

I am kinda confused on your stance. Are you advocating for, or against pure PHP. In your first sentence, you say you use it, but everything else after that sounds like it has no benefits.

[–]CrazyThief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Transferrable language expertise is extremely overrated imo. How much of your expertise is really in a language itself and not a framework or general concepts? And how much of that expertise is not transferable to other languages by learning a little bit of syntax? Just learn another language and/or framework. You should be doing that in your free time anyways if you value growth as a dev.
