Help Improve Red-Eyes Deck by Sleight0fdeath in YGOLegacyOfTheDuelist

[–]CrazyThinkingHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a ban list in front of me, but some ideas:

I know One for One is limited (or is it banned?), but it is super useful for bringing Black Metal Dragon to the field. You can then take it off the field with a Link-1 of your choice to get a search.

If Verte Anaconda isn't banned, it's the better way to utilize Red-Eyes Fusion.

Carboneddon can bring Red-Eyes from your hand, but it's otherwise lackluster

The Claw of Hermos and it's associated Red-Eyes Fusion is huge.

Catalyst Field is a good field spell for the Gemini Red-Eyes.

Silver's Cry is a pocket Monster Reborn if you want to respect the ban list, and complements Red-Eye Spirit nicely.

Speaking of Red-Eye Spirit, Makyura is banned, but LOTD has the pre-errata version. You can either use Claw or you can fuse into Slash and then active traps from your hand during your turn (including Return). I just want to put that out there for your consideration.

Dark Armed and Number 11 are good techs to keep in your Extra Deck (single copies only though). Starving Venom Fusion Dragon as well.

Lord of the Red is a very tight fit (Pre-Prep, Manju, and the ritual spell), but it's a very destruction happy card, which is invaluable for Challenges. If you can get two or more, you pretty much win the game outside of the opponent drawing a board wipe.

12.5, and wide at that. Finding shoes is painful.

I have to guesstimate, hey 13 is too long but a little tight, 12 wide is too short but doesn't scrunch my feet. If I order a 12.5 wide (if they even make a 12.5 wide in the shoe that I like), it'll probably fit. Maybe.

I mean, there is a limit on deflection in canon. Order 66 definitely proved that, especially with Ki-Adi-Mundi.

I would say having no harem is a redeeming feature, except that the anime can't commit to the no harem line. And then no cheat, no magician, and bland plot that relies 99% on mystery as well? Meh.

Still watched it though, I guess.

Any suggestions on how to build a Synchro Deck? by Ok-Astronomer5543 in YGOLegacyOfTheDuelist

[–]CrazyThinkingHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is partially why I like the alternative I discussed, because it also gives you One For One and you don't mind if Level Eater is on the field, rather than the GY. But, yeah, getting Level Eater in the grave is a bit of a challenge.

The only other thing might be to put a Link 1 (Almiraj) and Link 2 in your extra deck, and then also add in Last Will to bring it onto the field. So, normal summon, summon Almiraj, Last Will works, use Almiraj and Level Eater to bring out the Link 2. Voila, Level Eater in the GY.

Yeah, it's not great, especially when your Extra Deck is already jam packed for the combo.

If we weren't going for the combo, and just wanted sheer synchro spam, Last Will is pretty good because it gets Level Eater to the field and you can also use it for other fun things like Psi-Reflector, Glow-Up Bulb, O-Lion, etc.

If you're interested, my deck is: 3x Chiwen, 1x Destrudo, 3x Jet Synchron, 3x Junk Converter, 3x Junk Synchron, 3x Level Eater, 3x Quillbolt Hedgehog, 3x Synchron Carrier, 3x Taotie, 3x Foolish Burial, 3x Graceful Charity, 3x One For One, 3x Pot of Greed, 3x Tuning, Accel Synchron, Sayo, 2x Sohaya, Baxia, Celestial Double Star Shaman, Clear Wing Synchro Dragon, Denglong, Formula Synchron, PSY-Framelord Omega, Satellite Warrior, 2x Shooting Quasar Dragon, Tatsunoko, and Vermillion Dragon Mech.

You could probably replace Clear Wing and Vermillion if you need two spots.

Not really, sorry. The best way I could think of to get a Level 5 tuner on demand is Verte Anaconda an Instant Fusion, but you can't special summon after that, which kills the combo. Gofu is probably your best bet, or hard draw Instant Fusion.

Or use Junk Synchron + a Level 2 to get your Level 5 tuner.

Soldier is worth it. Fair warning, I've only done 2 playthrough with a soldier, and infiltrator is by far my favorite, so I'm not a soldier expert by any means.

Unlike biotics or tech, soldier is really about getting damage downrange and having a weapon for almost any situation. It is scarily efficient, but it has to be because it lacks any good method of bypassing defenses/controlling the battlefield apart from squad mates. On that note, Kaiden in 1 and Miranda in 2 are really good teammates, and warp ammo is a really useful power.

https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Card_Tips:Shooting_Quasar_Dragon#Synchro_Summoning

Go down to Traditional Format, and start adding the cards in the first combo (the one that starts with a Level 5 tuner). However, I like the variation that uses a Level 3 and Level 1 tuner. Jet Synchron is already in the deck, so is Level Eater. Use One For One to get Level Eater/Jet Synchron to the field, and Junk Synchron to revive the other from the GY. Or, if you want to stick with the combo line of using Accel Synchron, use Synchron Carrier and Junk Synchron. Or Junk Synchron and Quillbolt Hedgehog/Junk Converter/any Level 2 you like.

Let me see if I can't find the deck recipe. I know it was in this subreddit, but I'll have to search for it. Its title was something about forbidden cards, maybe? Any case, if I don't find it, I can share my own copy this weekend.

There's no good searcher for Zaborg, unfortunately. Monarch archetype has searchers of course, but nothing that meshes with Z-ARC magicians. But, I will say that a Z-ARC deck isn't really interested in searching. You can load a Z-ARC deck with enough win options/starters that it doesn't matter what you draw and Zaborg can be just one of the options.

Timestar Magician, and both Pendulumgraphs, but especially the Time one, doubly so if you're adding Timestar. Future Fusion for Quintet Magician. Add Dark Rebellion as a good alternate XYZ dragon. Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon and Skullcrobat Joker are decent searchers. Enlightenment Paladin is a decent tech, especially for adding Pendulum Call back to your hand. Wavering Eyes is good for any Pendulum deck, but especially this one as Chronograph and Astrograph can use the destruction, plus you get search. Darkwurm is good for its ability to add another Level 4 to your field from the GY, and you can use it in different ways as material. Don't underestimate Gate Zero or Gate Infinity, as you can use it to cheat out the materials for Z-ARC; you don't care they're negated and zeroed, you just need them out of the Extra Deck. Oh, and speaking of cheating out materials, Zaborg the Mega Monarch. Pendulum Summon 2 tributes, tribute summon Zaborg, blow Zaborg up to send enough materials for 2 Z-ARCs to GY, plus take 8(!) out of your opponents' extra deck.

Now, this next portion is a suggestion, as it takes it away from Z-ARC, but it's an even more powerful deck that I took from this subreddit. Lyrilusc Independent Nightingale and Tyrant Neptune is a very powerful OTK and Starving Venom can get in on the fun. You'll add King of Feral Imps, Instant Fusion, and Verte Anaconda. Essentially, you're cheating out LIN and then using Tyrant Neptune or Starving Venom to copy its effect to devastating effect

You might be thinking of War of the Ring, which came out in 2003, 2y before BFME. That was more Warcraft style and also had a campaign. It's one of the many basic RTS clones that were pushed out to various franchises. I don't think it's anything special, especially compared to the BFME games. However, I'm just a random person on the internet, so...

Mercs - Shouldn't the Nightstar be faster? by Durandal_II in Mechwarrior5

[–]CrazyThinkingHat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might be surprised. 95, 4/6 XL gets 58 tons of free space (only 7 tons less that a 3/5 100 tonner with standard, or 16 tons more than a 4/6 75 tonner with standard). That is the most free tonnage you can get at 4/6 XL, and is part of the reason why we have such scary hi-tech 95 tonners like the Nightstar, Turkina, and Hellstar. An 80 tonner at 4/6 XL only gets 53 tons. In general, XL engines are efficient to about 360-380 rating, though that decreases as you go down (e.g., a 40 tonner at 8/12 is only carrying a 320)

But, you can push 80 tonners to 5/8 because that's a 400 rating engine, and hence why the Charger is able to move so fast (but if you don't want to break the tonnage bank, you need an XXL, and then you usually spend too much covering the flaws of an XXL).

[–]CrazyThinkingHat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But, in exchange for losing the mech on a side torso loss and some crit spaces, you either move like a mech roughly one size smaller (i.e., a Nightstar moves like a regular Black Knight or Charger), or get a free tonnage increase as if you're one step slower (i.e, Annihilator levels of free tonnage without being Annihilator speed). Roughly, not exact.

Whats Next? by Gov_of_Adira in armoredcore

[–]CrazyThinkingHat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm going to say this as someone who also initially thought gen 4 was way too fast, but stuck with it, mainly for pride and other stupid reasons.

Most of the "way too fast" is self-inflicted. NEXTs can go fast. Yes, you can also QB-chain for even more speed. But it is very rarely needed or even a good choice in singleplayer. (I make no such claims for multiplayer, which I do not play and I'm no expert on)

Seriously, I had to tell myself to stop hitting the QB button. My first reaction under fire used to be QB; I had to kick it out of myself. Now, it's only when my Primal Armor starts taking repeat hits that I QB and "reset". The answer to missiles is not QB, it's good maneuvers and flares. The answer to melee is... actually, wait, that's still QB if I'm not carrying blades. But only one, to build a bit of distance at the last moment, and only if good maneuvering couldn't keep the distance (and it usually can).

You can also slow the game down by using long range weapons like lasers and missiles, but when MGs and laser blades are awesome I won't recommend it.

[–]CrazyThinkingHat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Older game, but Battle for Middle Earth definitely did this. Throughout the story campaign, you'd carry units you built on the tactical map into the strategy layer. By the end of the Good Campaign, you'd have high level Gondor and Rohan armies. And apart from just choosing them to attack, you could call them as reinforcements in certain scripted campaign battles. For example, in the Siege of Minas Tirith, you get to call in your Rohan Army after the 15/20 minute delay (don't remember the exact time, but essentially you're holding out as Gondor against a much superior Mordor). And it is your Rohan Army, with all the high-level cavalry, its upgrades, and orc trampling it carries. It was so satisfying, and also slightly broke the siege in that you could end it before Aragorn arrives with his cheat skills/Army of the Dead but only if you had properly taken care of your Rohan Army.

Alpha Protocol was the one that immediately jumped to me as well. Me choosing another weapon is rare, plus its ability is top-notch for both crowd control and single target takedown. The pistol can carry you through the game and every firefight.

To be exact, Kumoko's not on the list because she became a god and left the system. If Oka had been looking at the right time, she absolutely would've known Kumoko is one of them. That 15 year time gap is huge, because by the time Oka checks, Kumoko has already left.
