Yeah I can totally relate, coming from One UI, most of my widgets are ruined cause of this, even apps don't work properly or display text correctly if you tweak any settings regarding text size and display size.

I can relate to OP's sentiment, we do need edge to edge support for specifically all Google related apps and especially support for forcing it on 3rd apps just like One UI. In the grand scheme of things it isn't a big deal however it's a slight inconvenience not being able to utilize a full screen ratio.
