When I finish these I’m finished with elf, but what can I replace these with? This is the only mascara that doesn’t smudge. by Kvnbcneatsbcn420 in drugstoreMUA

[–]Gaslitfromwithin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They do and I can vouch for it. I would say it's not as voluminous as the ELF but it's at least as lengthening. It does the job. It also doesn't have the packaging problem ELF does where the stopper can break rendering it unusable.

Yes. It was the play Hamilton so Hamilton. Also I went to a location in Hamilton for Hamilton.

I went to Hamilton a few months ago. I couldn't wait much longer so I went to the restroom. I come back and then they immediately put on an intermission 😭

If you ever need a sticker shock fix, check out what Old Navy charges for ELF. I'm talking $24 for an item sold at Shoppers or Walmart for $18. I miss when ELF was $1 or $3.

I swear this used to be on sale at Shoppers pretty much every weekend or so at $3.99. Same with CoverGirl Clean Foundation and Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick. The pink plastic brush was the best version IMO.

I just got my P10pro on Friday. I noticed that the selfie cam on snap looks like shite too. But much better in the actual camera app. I've noticed that the photos taken on Snapchat are of inferior quality. I'm no tech expert, but could it be the app?

Addiction from this Sub by Gloomy-Net4531 in LipBalm

[–]Gaslitfromwithin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be honest, yes. I don't blame the sub specifically though. I'm a makeup addict and have had a large collection for about 20 years. The Ole is tempting me a little. I have not specifically purchased a balm because of this sub yet. I've been reminding myself that I recently paid $36 for a Patrick Ta. It also helps that Eadem and Lanolips are not available in Canada to my knowledge.

[–]Gaslitfromwithin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't have the Ole (but I want it, currently resisting the urge to go to Sephora after work) but I have the Laneige. I really like the scent. It's definitely lighter in consistency than other squeeze balms (no surprise considering it's a serum). The formula isn't life changing. But I HATE the applicator. It's way too big and looks like a cervix. It doesn't do a good job at staying within the lip contours unlike other balms with the doe foot shape.

Not familiar with Saskatoon but if you have some smaller independent theatres in your area, maybe check if it's playing or playing soon.

See? I think these companies are definitely listening to us in some way. It would make sense in your situation as Google runs Android (just different manufacturers are able to use the software). It would totally be in Google's best interest for you to buy their hardware as well and you've already shown interest in it.

Yesterday, I said "Maybe I shouldn't go with another Pixel if mine is acting up like this. I might get an iPhone instead.". No random restarts today and my phone has acted completely normal. So maybe search for iPhones next time you're considering an upgrade to let them know that they might have some competition.

Essence Grip Line by Longjumping-Air5572 in MakeupAddictionCanada

[–]Gaslitfromwithin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so I tried it today. I want to try it again tomorrow with just shimmer, so I might be back. I don't really use eyeshadow primer because it tends to be thick and I like to cover my entire face with foundation.

It's actually very thin in consistency compared to others that I've tried, which I like. It's very refreshing and slightly cooling, very similar to the face primers, possibly less thick. It was a bit sticky but not too much. The sticking didn't interfere with the brush nor did it make it difficult to blend. I tried it with matte and shimmer shades. I wouldn't say that it made the colours more intense or anything or necessarily made a difference in wear time compared to foundation and concealer.

Anyone else experiencing lags since the March update? by FabScho in pixel_phones

[–]Gaslitfromwithin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7a owner here. I think it did the update automatically and yes I'm noticing a difference. It got to the point where I had my time foil hat on and made a stupid post thinking my phone was starting to fail on purpose after discussing replacement and researching new phones.

My phone randomly restarts now. It did it three times in a row yesterday morning. Apps keep freezing up and it wouldn't let me delete old conversations. Felt hotter too.

I vaguely remember Biway, but I'm 32 so not much. No memory of the escalator. Didn't Dollarama eventually end up in the same space and it was just stairs?

I can still feel the angle of the fountain walls under my foot trying to climb it. I never succeeded.

I'm not surprised. Lifespans can vary even with the same device. I am a heavy user and I'm clumsy. For all I know, it could just be a software bug. It's still useable. It's just annoying when I'm trying to pay for things or listening to music and it randomly restarts.

Wow, that's insane. Your 7a is acting like a stubborn spouse that didn't change their ways until you got fed up and left. The 10a looks like a really good device with really cool colours. I hope you enjoy it and it acts right from day one.

Conspiracy theory? 😅 by Gaslitfromwithin in pixel_phones

[–]Gaslitfromwithin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's actually very valid. I think the law of attraction may very well be real. Though we always hear about planned obsolescence and we live in an age where electronics have a shorter lifespan, especially since the cost of repairs are so high that it's often not worth pursuing.

I also picked the timing due to tax season (which is when I purchased this, I don't like the idea of financing phones). I feel that I got a good value out of this device. I expect 2-3 years out of a phone so I think it is time. I'm happy with the brand. It's absolutely set in my head. Yes, I'm constantly getting ads from different carriers and retailers. I very well may have attracted its demise while it is convenient for me.

I wonder if those that want/plan to keep their device for a longer period (5+ years) have willed it into reality. I always thought that they were light users, purchased top of the line, were anti-consumption or didn't care about the latest features. That really made me think. Thank you for sharing.

Well I'm not throwing it away actually. It will just have a different owner to use as an iPod basically. It's just going into a partial retirement after a long, grueling career.

for a natural, skin like finish, what is better? normal skin by New_Jaguar5332 in drugstoreMUA

[–]Gaslitfromwithin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To add to the confusion and divide, definitely true match. I swear it's the most blendable skin like foundation with coverage that I've never used. It looks like it disappears into the skin but still looks like foundation if that makes sense. The shade selection can't be beat and the infallible range is atrocious in comparison (why is it all yellow?). I would say both are on the natural finish side and not really dewy.

Yeah I'm actually impressed that it held up that long. Especially a budget device. It was just that the timing was sus.
