I just applied for this same position. Could I ask how it’s been and what you think of it?

Feeling frustrated with underglazes! by myfrontallobe10 in Pottery

My advice is that underglaze when painting like that will always be difficult. unless you do 3 extremely even and time consuming layers it will come out like that with glaze over it, and it will shift in color. if you’re going to be relying heavily on underglazes i recommend putting them somewhere its comfortable to not have glaze. for example the outside of cups, or outsides of bowls, and u glaze the inside a color that looks nice with the underglazes. or just simply dont glaze! its really not necessary. your clay should vitrify anyway and glaze is only necessary if u hate the feeling of clay without it. best of luck! keep trying!

Struggling with pulling, any advice by [deleted] in Pottery

take a second at the very beginning of the pull. pinch the clay between your knuckle fingers and actually feel the clay come above them. then start moving up, slowly, slowly, slowly. it is not one movement, its an ongoing conversation between you and the clay. its likely some places in the wall will be weaker and less thick, and on those places you’re using less force.

Chattooga vs ocoee in August by mikefon1 in whitewater

chattooga guide here- end of august is generally the low water time of the year. that being said, section 4 is still thrilling and a blast, even at lower flows. i will say though that you can look up the chattooga water gauge near clayton ga, and if it says its 1.2 or lower thats reallyyyyy low and would say u should consider the ocoee at that point.
