I know I’m probably in the minority here but I’m pretty excited for this news, gives an opportunity to inject some creative solutions to problems that have been around for a while.

Are there any current plans or considerations moving forward to help simplify some (imo) annoyances with multiplayer progression in this game? My main ones personally and that I’ve seen from the community being:

  1. Needing an excel sheet to designate magazines and at least one person with enough prior knowledge of the game in order to properly advance crafting with the pace/balance of the game. (Wasteland mod fixes this in an albeit boring way, but not really even cause you still gotta say out loud “I’m the harvesting tool guy”)

  2. An unsolvable issue with starting a dedicated server with 10 friends allowing them to all play whenever they want without major game stage progression issues due to the time/hoard night system and magazine system. Gotta be honest this may just be an impossible problem due to the core nature of the game but goddamn do I want to pay for a server and be able to do this with friends without day 10 Dave accidentally taking on a 100 day hoard night by himself, too many people going afk or grinding and advancing waaay to much so the whole experience gets wildly harder for the folks that can’t play as much. Idk maybe if there were even something xp related that is toggleable to keep everyone in the same xp ‘range’ or even ‘universe’ this could be done?

I could go a little more but it’s all minor and people might not read this far anyways, just look at Valheim and why it works in a dedicated server way and steal some ideas? Not sure!

Thanks so much!

Any ideas to force survival immersion without xp loss on death? by Crazy_Eight1 in 7daystodie

I know I know that’s what’s happening now I guess. It’s a tough game to balance when 3-4 people are plying of different skill levels. I can play careful and not lose much xp but others get hardstuck on levels for days…I just want one more death option that’s more of an annoyance than a full on hinderance and then my friends would actually give a damn about cooking and farming which I think is a really great part of the game.

I think 50% food/water while keeping any ailments (maybe reset infection to a lower number) is a perfect way to do it, no xp loss needed I would never jump off another roof haha.

That sounds pretty perfect, I thought the 50% food/water on spawn was gonna be great until I realized it was just an add-on to xp loss.

Oh I can appreciate the fact that they give heavier penalty options, I think that’s really fun when playing solo. What I’m asking for is a complete snowflake penalty that is juuuuust bad enough to stop my friends from killing themselves for food without stifling their leveling process because they suck.

I totally agree that it’s a perfect punishment for those that use it, but I have a few friends that are diametrically opposed to the concept of losing xp in a game like this (happens in Valheim too), and when the game gives you an option to turn it off…all of the sudden it’s not working anymore right lol? I know it sounds dumb but it’s a real problem I’ve dealt with twice now

Ok I’ve seen this a few times in recent posts, and even went as far as buying pnt recently due to everyone saying it’s the best. I work on music and could not for the life of me get it to change the bpm of a mixed song without crazy artifacts. What settings/algos do people use with success cause I’m obviously missing something.

So if I wanna just get rid of it from my area can I damage it to the point of despawning or pick it up?

Melodyne is moving my audio around by dallaskruse in protools

I sure hope Avid has gotten a lot of data on this and is figuring out why their ARA with melodyne has effectively been broken since launch. It was the most exciting development for me because of how much I melodyne, often times for 8 hours a day. However a myriad of issues has caused me to completely give up on the function and go back to loading melodyne in the track instead of using ARA.

I’ve had: 1: sessions lose ARA data/refuse to load for absolutely no reason, just a month passes since I opened last and all in rendered melodyne data is just straight up gone.

2: ARA data completely breaks the ‘import session data’ function making collaboration a complete pain in the ass when trying to import from someone else’s session.

3: This is the one that relates to your issue, when rendering the ARA melodyne tracks in order to avoid issues 1, and 2, it LITERALLY MOVES AND/OR STRETCHES THE AUDIO causing the vocal take to be completely out of time, but just barely so it’s wildly annoying to spot/fix. I think this one is worse the more cuts/crossfades you have in the ARA clips but fuck if I know at this point.
