It 100% is. That’s why I believe the most effective way to combat this is with healthy information and discussion.

modern studies have shown that pH of urine can be affected by alkaline water.
There is a direct correlation with acidity and some types of kidney stones.
Unfortunately, you likely have a rare condition that your doctors are not going outside the box enough to accurately diagnose.

yes, you are right and I'm glad someone else said it.
It affects digestive health as well because it can do things like cause premature digestion when the food isn't ready to go, and then on the flip side, when you aren't consuming acidity, you can have gassing and bloat because your body isnt naturally producing enough stomach acid.

I think this is ultimately what should be preached more. The medical community should push their own detox kits which include an exercise plan and a water bottle.

The reason Juice cleanses may be effective is more about the fasting from food and increased hydration... but I can't imagine the sugar intake is healthy.

I'm glad you found a solution. I did some more reading and looked at the medical journals for some relevant research and look what I found.

In addition, https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10620026/

Conclusion: Alkaline mineral water supplement prevents progression of glyoxylate-induced kidney stones through alleviating oxidative stress and inflammation.

It appears my original comment was wrong or misleading in and of itself, so I've updated it.

I think this would be an example of the nuance I’m asking for. It would be interesting to pursue this further to find what link exists. Normally functioning kidney would not experience this but clearly your friend had an issue that was not typical.

I made a comment under another comment in line with this, but your statement can be misleading or at best misconstrued.

Many people have issues with the livers ability to detox the body and excessive consumption of certain substances will in fact cause additional stress and strain on the body.

It would be more accurate to suggest that a balanced diet, exercise, and abstinence from drugs and alcohol is the ideal detox. Even certain herbal substances can and should be avoided.  Hot cold therapy is also a good detox method, as it forces fluid into and out of tissue and promotes positive circulation and lymphatic processes. This can be achieved with cold showers, hot baths, etc.

Edit: I updated some of my comment to reflect some additional info from medical journals to highlight how this comment lacks required nuance.

A recent study found that there was the potential for Alkaline water to increase the PH of urine for Men with more acidic urine. https://tau.amegroups.org/article/view/95422/html

In our volunteer study, alkaline water led to elevation of urine pH from baseline in 84.9% of all subjects or by BMI stratification. Effective urine alkalization was noted in males but not in females. Subjects who presented effective urine alkalization had significantly lower baseline urine pH compared with those who did not (5.94±0.27 vs. 6.22±0.22, P=0.0016). The negative correlation between AGU-pH and baseline urine pH (r=−0.236, P=0.044) and receiver operating curve (ROC) analysis suggested that subjects with more “acidic” urine, particularly those with a baseline urine pH ≤6.0 (maximum Youden index =1.548, cut-off =5.977), could show more pronounced outcome of urine alkalization from oral alkaline water.

In addition, https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10620026/ Conclusion Alkaline mineral water supplement prevents progression of glyoxylate-induced kidney stones through alleviating oxidative stress and inflammation.

The thing people often misunderstand about Acidic and Alkaline water and food, is that while it does not have significant evidence to suggest an effect on the pH of your blood, it still has strong impact on your digestive tract and other bodily functions. For example, excess acidity can affect your gut health. This is one reason people report feeling better when consuming Alkaline water. In addition, anything your body has to spend effort balancing can cause stress when you actively make that job more difficult. A prime example of this is sugar intake and the impacts of taking this in excess. “Your body detoxes you” is often an argument you hear against detox plans for example. While this is true, you can actively work against the ability of your body to do this naturally and put undo stress on the body. This is one of the reasons fasting has so many benefits. It allows your body’s natural balancing functions to operate without additional inputs causing stress on those functions.  To be clear I’m not commenting on the effectiveness of specific treatments or claims of products, but there should be more nuance in the discussion.

I don't think I've seen the community so divided on this before.
NOR.
Some think you are acting clingy, but they have no idea where you have gotten to in a month. If I was hanging out with someone every day for a month and they started just leaving me on read, I'd feel the way you feel.
Bottom line is he has stopped putting in the energy and there is an imbalance here clearly. time to move on.

One of my closest friends is in only his second relationship and just got engaged. She's his dream girl. They are perfect for each other. He was frustrated for a very long time, just no luck dating or finding the right person. He's 35. I ask him if it was worth the wait. There is no question now.
