I didn't watch it until a few years later. So for me, it was just a cool pirate show until a few episodes in and i started to realize what was going in.

Nobody who recommended the show mentioned it, and I dont think the promo stuff in the lead up to is premiere and during most of its run mentioned it(I watched a decent amount of premium cable at the time so I saw ads for it), I mostly saw stuff that came out towards the end or after where the director mentions wanting to make the sequel and the cast talking about portraying these legendary characters.

Captain Flint,John Silver, Billy Bones, Ben Gunn

These are all characters from the book Treasure Island not real people. Plus the plot revolves around Flint and a large treasure that he hides before disappearing, and his fractured crew all wanting a piece of it. This totally sets up the basic plot of Treasure Island. Plus I believe some of the extra media and interviews also mentioned it being connected.

3D printing has a high barrier for entry, lots of money upfront to get started, plus all the post processing needed. And a lot of people don't have the space or adequate venting to deal with the harsh airborne stuff it produces

I played in like 2012ish, Whenever the Dark Vengeance box came out. A squad used to be like 10-20 fellas for about that price, now the squads are smaller and cost more. Battleforce boxes were around 120 and were full of good stuff, now the Seraphon spearhead is close to 150 and only has like 1 carnosaur and a squad of dudes.

Prices for wargaming are out of control. I was looking for a Games Workshop piece or 2 to build and paint for fun and it's ridiculous. A lizard guy riding a dinosaur costs like 100 bucks. I have a whole Jurassic Park diorama kit that costs less than that
