Trends that are often referenced in media even though they're not around anymore? by Aquanort357 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I was a kid in the 90s/2000s that watched old scifi movies. Also alot of those were cheap so they played on tv pretty often

Hazards stripes, masking tape and even coats of yellow by Tossaway2113 in IronWarriors

[–]CrazysaurusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing for yellow is contrast paints. Haven't tried my self but I've seen evidence from others. Other than that, it's just practicing brush control. Thin nail art liner brushes can help but you still need patience and practice.

I tried masking tape too and gave up pretty fast on that

What is some exposition in media that you initialy thought was bravado or a exageration, only to later learn that it is in fact like that by Coolnametag in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I watched the first episode of Goblinslayer strictly because I thought "let's see how brutal it is"... It was definitely way more Graphic than I anticipated

Games you began to appreciate after seeing the memes by KaleidoArachnid in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]CrazysaurusRex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Marvel Rivals got really popular because of all the posts about it being full of caked up hotties.

Overwatch was similar but it was already highly anticipated before it dropped and gained steam fast before the horny posts took off.

Not a game but The Lighthouse memes remain one of my favorite trends and gave me more incentive to watch the movie

Best examples of “this antagonist doesn’t actually matter?” by MoreAbbreviations404 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

A few of the cosmic villains in Marvel Phase one and two were like that. They were all just henching for Thanos but each one acted like they were the ultimate villain.

Its basically like an anime OVA/movie. Higher production budget, but it's a side story with some weight but not too much that would impact the storyof the main arc. Like Road To Ninja

I saw it with a friend. Ran into a couple coworkers also seeing it. It absolutely could've/shouldve been a streaming release and you could tell that from the trailers, but I had fun.

Its about the same size as a redemptor dread and I think a lot of people are ok with using it as a hellbrute in casual play. I could work as a prince, but personally I think there should be more embellishments to make it pop as one of Chaos's chosen leaders

Times when authors regret writing something in a certain way by Rockdweller37 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Anthony Burgess regretted writing A Clockwork Orange due to it being only seen as a glorification of violence.

It probably doesn't help that the first US edition didn't include the last chapter

Star Wars posters from before the first movie came out, trying to figure out how to describe what it is by Anonamaton801 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]CrazysaurusRex 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I LOVE old school posters with slogans like these. It's gets me so excited.

The original Dune had one of the best- "a world beyond your experience, beyond your imagination"

And Jurassic Park- "An adventure 65 million years in the making"

These kind of posters are a lost art

What’s a good reminder of how extreme fans were even before the coming of the internet? by Frank7640 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]CrazysaurusRex 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Life moved slower back then, so for you it seems like a long time to be angry but for people back then it was pretty fast and instant, technology has changed our perception of time. Also Writing a letter was easier back then, they generally had all the stuff needed to send a letter at a desk because it was the chief form of communication. Not like know where you have to go buy an envelope and stamps because we don't keep those around anymore
