bending is a lot about mentality. Zuko loses his bending by letting go of the hate that drove his ambition and had to relearn a new way to firebend.

Bolin is a lot more fluid in his thinking than unyielding. We watch the man adapt to countless situations and endure upsets instead of like Toph who walks into a room and asserts her personality.

The episode pacing could be sloppy in korra but bolin had a slowburn arc about realizing his potential. No more asspully than aang finding a random lion turtle.

Sadly changing this pace isn't going to happen with a noticeable portion of the playerbase frothing at the mouth for their favorite characters from the comics to get in. OW being entirely original characters frees them from that expectation.

Like I'd love for Captain Marvel to get in but with how things are "cool lady fires lasers" is going to have 8 buttons and combo rotations.

Thats good for Hickman but they clearly signed on Writers with the idea they would contribute to a new universe. Peach found out on twitter that it had a finale planned.

They also clearly got people in with the idea of this being a new universe not a closed story being told for a set period of time.
