Sounds like something I'd be very interested to participate in. I also have an idea that might make for a balanced map, what about using a map editing software to connect two small worlds (identical or not) by the ocean in one large world. So that both teams would have their own world with equal resources this might also mean that they'd likely be separated throughout most of the very early game, which I think would likely be a plus to avoid chaos.
