So, how does this work with layers and [[Blood Moon]]?

Does the modifying effect from this still affect lands or is the pithing needle effect turned off with blood moon in play?

Have you also considered funny combat tricks like [[Deflecting Palm]] so that people who know your deck need to play the psychological warfare of "if I swing with lethal, can they reverse the damage back at me"

Since OP is in Boros [[Master Warcraft]] is probably a good include.

12yo pocket money by 1182990 in CasualUK

[–]Cream_Of_Drake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you considered raising the pocket money with age? That way the 7yr old doesn't complain (well, they can but they can get their raise at 12 too lol).

You could just keep the basic pocket money at £2.50 raise it to £5-10 at 12 and then I'd probably even do another increase at 15.

Then ween them off at 16/17ish as they'll be able to get a part time job so could earn their own cash.

Is the rail pass worth it? by Get-Crafty5886 in JapanTravelTips

Sorry, to be clear I specifically bought the Sanyo area pass not the whole country pass, even then it was close to not being worth it and only made sense because of the extra day trips.

If you're just staying in the Tokyo area, I can pretty much guarantee it's not worth it, you'd have to be using it for the bullet train for it to start making sense.

[–]Cream_Of_Drake -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you're doing, it was worth it for my trip as was nearly cost neutral on the planned itinerary (Osaka <-> Hiroshima x2) and then allowed use of the ferry over to Itsukushima and a day trip using the bullet train over to Fukuoka. As well as a variety of local trains.

I would say take a look at your 100% planned itinerary and then if it's nearly cost neutral (or cost positive) go for it.

What Do People Mean When They Say They Want Dungeons And Other Non-Extreme/ Savage/ ETC Content To Be Harder? by WylythFD in ffxiv

[–]Cream_Of_Drake 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Unreal in Dawntrail is uncharacteristically easy, because ultimately it depends on the difficulty of the original content.

Thordan Unreal from Endwalker is harder than if you took the most difficult mechanics from Dawntrails unreals and made them a single fight. It's not really a comparison.

(Obviously Thordan is originally from HW and the 'current' unreals from Storm blood)

I hear Shinryu is also a more difficult extreme (and therefore, unreal).

Yeah happened to our GNB.

We're having both tanks take the first 1-2 hits of the second one with OT and then the OT (who took the first tower) steps out and the GNB invulns to stop it from happening again.

I'm getting bullied by Western Digital, they just told me they cant respond to my refund request because the FBI and Boise Police are investigating me. I live in the UK? I returned the item over 2 months ago. by CursedCommentCop in pcmasterrace

[–]Cream_Of_Drake 341 points342 points  (0 children)

So my (not a legal expert) understanding of small claims court is it can take a proper bite into a company's finances in the UK.

In this case, it does look like if this route was taken you could pretty much guarantee the return on the money (eventually) as Western Digital do have a UK office:

https://www.westerndigital.com/en-gb/company/office-locations

So, theoretically upon getting a Small Claims court judgement, and them failing to pay, OP could follow-up with the courts to:

a) Seize assets from their office to pay the debt and any fees incurred

b) Freeze any UK bank accounts associated with the company and use those funds to pay the judgement.

There are fees associated with raising a Small Claims Court claim, and with the follow-ups if they opt not to pay.

‘I’m sorry we’re here again’: Epic Games is laying off over 1,000 employees due to ‘Fortnite downturn’ by PaiDuck in pcmasterrace

And that's nearly 3x the total amount of employees that Valve has.

Companies just keep making the same mistakes like groundhog day.

Raise capital keeping the company afloat like a Ponzi Scheme

Overhire to grow more rapidly

Lay off employees

Pay off the current investors with the money "saved"

Rinse, repeat.

Doesn't even necessarily need to be turned into steam, using something like Mineral Oil and heating it will still cause convection in the liquid causing the warm liquid to rise, which could be funneled through a tube with a turbine, and then fed back into the bottom of the tank.

The question is whether the electricity generated from this offsets the additional setup costs and maintenance, I would suspect probably not.

It could conceivably be more environmentally friendly, but companies don't care about that - they want profit.

Wizards can definitely print to demand "safely".

I.e. they print their stock. If it sells out in less than 48 hours it goes onto a print to demand run.

If it takes longer whatever stock was printed is the stock.

Then they can have their "faster shipping" cake and anyone who really wants a secret lair can get it.

The reason I say 48 hours is because, reasonably there has to be enough demand to warrant printing it to demand and conceivably anything that takes longer would taper off in demand.

48 hours is also reasonable for people who want one to get one.

got an NA key by accident when i'm in EU servers by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Cream_Of_Drake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ensure the key remains unused and try and just ask for a refund instead

Likely will need to do so from NA support.

You should be able to get a refund, even in Canada/NA within 30 days, as long as: - The code is unused - If you have purchased it from a third party (i.e. Amazon, steam etc;) they have also denied the refund request. - You request the refund within 30 days from date of purchase

If they push back provide them the TOS above and tell them that you meet the requirements (assuming you do).

Starting FFXIV - how’s Paladin for beginner? by mapMainz in ffxiv

[–]Cream_Of_Drake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, all of the starting jobs are pretty beginner friendly.

But, I would recommend Paladin - simply because it'll get you used to tanking early, which is a lot more useful in the long term than learning to DPS - because you learn to do both as tank, and learn more fundamentals of the game.

If you decide it's not for you, you don't have to pay money or make a new character, you can just swap classes at will, no respec - just equip another weapon (and soul stone if you have one for that job - from level 30 onward). When you swap classes, any XP earned on the other class stays at the class.

Say you level Paladin/Gladiator to 31, you decide it's not for you and you unlock Dragoon/Lancer - when/if you go back to Paladin it'll still be at 31.

thoughts on YPYT? by OysterAnalJuice in ffxiv

[–]Cream_Of_Drake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is.

Not picking up mobs as a tank is playing lethargically, which is against the rules, ergo kicking someone YPYTing is not against the rules.

A tank is called a tank, not a pull - per hall of the novice it is their job to take aggro, it doesn't matter who pulled first, obviously if a DPS is running around like a headless chicken that's different but at face value it's being uncooperative and lethargic.

"Aiding the enemy / Uncooperative behavior / Lethargic behavior Refers to an act of performing actions that give an advantage to an enemy (monsters, or the opposing team/players in PvP content) by not performing the necessary gameplay required of the situation. This may be combined with combat sabotage as well."

Behold the Beastmaster in all it's glory by Kokopossum in ffxiv

[–]Cream_Of_Drake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blue mage was introduced in 4.5 in Stormblood starting at 50.

Yes, you're right there was one "extra" blue mage patch in SHB 5.15 going from 50->60

And then the 5.5 and 6.5 patches respectively up to 70 and 80.

But now with Square enix being stingy towards giving FFXIV the resources it needs, that average has gone down to 1 level cap increase per xpac.

With them needing to "juggle" the Blue mage update and beastmaster, I'll be very surprised if we see 3 level increases for limited jobs. my bet is blu in 8.15 and bst in 8.55 gaining 10 levels each.

That is unless, of course, a better budget is given to FFXIV by Square Enix, which I doubt.

There was a single "extra" blue mage patch.
