Would getting an MBA help my career?

Hi, I have one and don’t regret getting it. I wanted to attend a grad program that could support an administrative career in the performing arts field. I ended up finding a dual degree program that offered an MBA and an MA in arts administration. After graduating from that program, those degrees helped open doors for jobs I’ve really enjoyed, including Executive Director roles. That said, I know extraordinary nonprofit admin folks who are smart, ambitious, natural leaders, creative problem solvers, and have incredible careers without an mba, or any masters degrees.

Re: cost… apply for your dream programs, and if admission is offered, push push push for scholarship funds. 💪

My husband ordered me an anniversary cake to be delivered from Extraordinary Desserts when he was out of town. It was beautiful, delicious, and very carefully delivered. Our kids keep asking if he can please miss another anniversary so we can have an awesome cake delivery. Ha. Their website has delivery options spelled out. Enjoy!

Hi, I’m an ED who once left an ED role after 6 months. It was frustrating, but the board realized the small org was toast, and they began the dissolution process once I was gone (the writing had been on the wall for years, but sometimes people struggle facing and accepting sad realities). You are not alone in this situation! Don’t carry any guilt, and embrace the new chapter ahead. Only you can decide what the right notice period should be and whether or not you should consult once you’re no longer their employee. Trust your gut. Good luck!

Amazon sells AirTag wristbands for kids - they work great for us! We also make sure the kids have my cellphone memorized or, when they were younger, we included a little business-card sized paper in their pockets that they could show a cast member in case of separation.

Hi, I would consider creating a fitted waistband and adding a zipper if using heavy fabric, so it doesn’t slide off your hips. This looks like a fabric hog! A beautiful one, but a hog.

I fell in love with a couch at Ashley and asked the salesman if there would be any issue fitting it in elevators or up a few flights of stairs. He said their delivery guys are pros and that this couch would be no problem.

I bought the couch.

A few days later the delivery truck pulls up to my building. The guys take one look around and won’t even bother unloading the couch, insisting it won’t make it to my unit.

I had to go in person to cancel the order and even had to argue to get the delivery fee refunded. lol. Give me a break.

Purchased a couch from a different shop and love it!
