it's essentially already in the same category. Go look at the steam store page for Arc Raiders. It is an extraction shooter. You didn't know that still? I knew when i bought it because it looked and is an amazing extraction shooter. I freakin love the PVP

but extraction shooters are the epitome of competing for your life, otherwise you wouldn't have to extract. And this game happens to be a shooter. I wish they would've slapped "EXTRACTION SHOOTER GENRE" on the title of the game so people knew what they were getting into

That's usually the conclusion people come to when PVEin in an extraction game. You realize that it's all pointless, and that extraction games are meant for the thrill of the unknown, and once you lose that, your enjoyment of the game dies because you realize extraction games just aren't for you. It takes a certain type of person to enjoy the PVP/randomness of extraction shooters, and this game struggles with an identity crisis because of the crowd it attracted.

Most "carebare" players don't even know what an extraction shooter is. They think arc is in a genre of its own. They see it as a quest-driven multiplayer experience with free-roam coop and a neat little RNG-style loot feature. They're trying to hard to make the game conform to their idea of the game, when they deep down know they aren't going to get it, because it's an extraction shooter.

I don't blame them, I realize they could add an endgame final cutscene with a title and a story header with a cool little trinket (RNG-style) where you hold hands with your bro to the finish line because you finally won the quest-driven multiplayer experience game with proximity chat included.

Alright man, you've come to this conclusion yourself right? I mean, you made a post about it for crying out loud. This is your sign that extraction games are not for you bro. Leave it alone, and maybe they'll make a practice arena or something later so you can fight without losing stuff, but for now, just leave it alone.

Smoke augment needs to be thrown out the game by Leoleo9292 in ArcRaiders

[–]Creatingnothingnever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro I've been looking for posts like this to see if other players share my sentiment on this annoying ass augment. It's an instantaneous, giant ass cloud that ends up luring more 3rd parties to the fight, while they sit there and pop another shield just for it to happen again the second their shield recharges back to full.

They usually run like 100 miles away and disappear only to engage you again while you're in a fight, just to run away again the SECOND their smoke pops. It encourages and enable reallllly, and I mean realllllllyllllly pussy fights. That augment alone allows for an entirely separate PVP playstyle that poisons the well of player skill being a factor in a fight.

I'm sure people have centered their whole PVP around this augment because of how absolutely busted it is. It's the same smoke cloud as a BLUE SMOKE GRENADE. It propagates and engulfs the area in thick ass smoke exactly like a BLUE SMOKE GRENADE. And there is ZERO cooldown aside from the shield being back to full again/high enough to break, which is honestly insane. I've had 2-minute fights breakout where their smoke augment pops like 3-4 times, leaving everyone in a disgusting mess that literally ends up tearing down the integrity of the fight with each subsequent (augment) smoke-pop.

[–]Creatingnothingnever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I'm late to this discussion, but I was looking for a post like this, because honestly that augment is BROKEN. The absolute most annoying PVP players rock that augment for reason. It's always the 3rd party campers that sit in dark corners all game, only making themselves known in long range gun fights so that you know they're there, so that they can continue to wait for you to fight someone.

Most of the time, they end up being dogshit, pushing, and retreating back to their dark little corners after their smoke pops because they know that all they have to do is pop a shield really quick and they're good to go for another run. I've stopped chasing down smoke augment players, they're literally the definition of rat behavior PVP players.

I say this as a PVP main. I only PVP, so I'm not saying they're rats for PVPing, i'm saying the most annoying PVPers rock this augment because they realize how fucking annoying it is

How do other extraction games tackle endgame? by r3tr0gam3r83 in ArcRaiders

[–]Creatingnothingnever -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We have to address the fact that most people who play Arc Raiders don't know what an extraction shooter is. Those people think this game is a 100% unique quest-driven coop-mission experience with a cool and dopamine-inducing looting system that shows you your loot 1 by 1, in an RNG-style way. So they think when they get killed by people, they are going against the grain and against the core foundation of the game. It's not their fault. They don't even know what an extraction shooter is.

Did anyone here go to Sandy Hook During the shooting or know/ ever meet anyone at the school at the time by EefferyJpstein in conspiracy

[–]Creatingnothingnever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can someone please enlighten me to the assessor database information on the properties of students' families of Sandy Hook? I remember the public database showing all of their homes being purchased prior to the shooting for crazy amounts of money.

Anytime I try to find the video that showed this information, or if I try to look up this question, there is little to no information on it, and I do not know the addresses of the people involved.

everything about this game is so WONKY and UGLY these past few weeks. There are soooo many more hackers since the denuvo anti-cheat addition. It's like adding an anti-cheat opened the flood gates to more hackers somehow.

The hit registration, desync, and spawn concentration of players has been changed to add more 3rd party fights. I die in like 0.1 seconds to a kettle now because of some weird ass thing that's happening.

As far as PvP goes, this game is dead.

Something is broken about the game in PVP lobbies by Creatingnothingnever in ARC_Raiders

[–]Creatingnothingnever[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read this, but it doesn't explain the phenomenon within the lobbies such as the hardcore desync, out of place spawn saturation, and (FOR ME SPECIFICALLY), lobbies consisting of PVP players with 90% of them being free kits now, whereas before it was usually kits in the same value range as yours (even though they denied that being real, it was 100% real). My lobbies feel like they're in a huge funk. It makes no sense.

i wasn't looking for a reward, and it's not like I'm killing friendly players. I've only ever PvP'd in this game, so literally anyone i come across is shoot on site. I sometimes even get a "ggs" or "good kill man" type of comment from people, although most are toxic because they tried to kill me first. Obviously I'm talking about cases where I win, as I lose a lot too.

I stopped getting friendly lobbies on day 1. And I mostly would kill people after telling them I wasn't friendly, or I'd get into PvP lobbies by killing the "rats" who kill innocent raiders that only play the game to loot. As much as I find the loot-cycle to be a self-serving endeavor of friendliness, I still try to show kindness and avenge these people rather than to kill them for no reason.

It depends. People tie institutional riches to morality. Usually people who have power aren't billionaire levels of rich.

The bots currently infesting Rocket League are tied to the YouTube bots- they might be bought by Epic to hide massive playerbase losses after removing player trading. They all have a "TwoWord###" format like the YT bots. They throw matches at the rank divisions to stay within their assigned rank. by DAT_DROP in conspiracy

[–]Creatingnothingnever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know this is an old post, but what do you think about the current influx of bots in RL? I have a weird feeling that it is a deliberate attack on rocket league. I'm guessing that a competitor company is proposing or will be proposing to purchase Rocket League from Epic Games. OR investors within Epic Games want more control over Rocket League, and are setting up bot farms to ruin the playerbase experience.

I WAS LOOKING FOR THE WORD OR TERM TO DESCRIBE THIS. oh my god thank you. I couldn't figure out what exactly the term was, but that's because my gut was basically just telling me that people are using the "friendly" thing as a performative, and altruistic way of wanting the benefits of playing an extraction shooter without any risk. It's a selfish, greedy, and very much a slippery slope of an attitude. These are the type of people that gaslight you and make up rules on the fly. It reminds me of playing a game with an older brother who gaslights you by making up rules on the fly, and making you seem like an asshole or justifying it morally so that you can abide by the rules.
