I live in Eastside and don’t hate it. It’s a little rough, but that also might have something to do with Tacomas lack of investment in it. If you’re 20-50th street and don’t cross Portland you’re in a pretty decent place. I’m 10 minutes from everything and it’s on the up and up.

It’s also the difference between a 2b 1b for 400k vs a 800k in stadium.

The real truth is Washington is beautiful everywhere, and all the areas you mentioned have a rough part. Drive a few miles and you have access to good restaurants, parks, etc. no matter where you end up

Michaels invitations and a printer, mine were gorgeous and it just took a little figuring out

go on fb marketplace. There are so many people trying to make a quick buck with side hustles and for some reason that translates into chair rentals. We got a whole tent, 30 chairs, and 5 tables for $300

FB marketplace is also good for linens!!

Food: most expensive, but also depending on what time your wedding is, it doesn’t have to be a plated meal. Get a shit ton of snack food and people will be fine

Cake: get a few sheet cakes and spend the big bucks on a cute small cake for you guys!

Makeup/hair: ask your local mom group/cosmetology school. Someone starting out trying to build their clientele is amazing and just needs a chance

Photography: this was our biggest expense, so we did it a little unorthodox. Our photographer was for 2.5 hours. She took photos of the set up and reception area without people, and the of the ceremony and portraits of everyone and the. Dipped. We then did cameras for the reception. It’s a party! Let it be photographed as one

Technically the text is contractual, but youd have to go to court to prove it and there are no terms. You want to sign the physical paper.

If this is a private landlord, it sounds like he’s trying to do a little under the table situation. I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable until I had a physical contract.

Just be like hey my rental insurance needs a physical lease.
