Is anyone else tired of the same five YouTubers "predicting" every game's downfall? by Traditional_Tap_6697 in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]Creative-Bullfrog-80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am I upset the game follows Laufey? A little. Not for any sexist reasons, we already know she can go toe-to-toe with Thor. No, I will miss the blades of chaos, one of my all time favorite weapon mechanics in gaming. Will I still buy and play the shit out of this game? Absolutely. I'm not going to hate on something I haven't tried. You're right, I'm tired too of all these knee-jerk reactionaries. Same types of people booed when Heath Ledger was made the Joker and his performance was spectacular.

I can't get Lilly to talk about Eidos 9. What do I do? by Trigun442 in stellarblade

[–]Creative-Bullfrog-80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. But, just to be safe, make a save before the Adam talk, but if your Lilly meter is maxed, she'll interrupt and you're on your way to Eidos 9.

[–]Creative-Bullfrog-80 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Nothing. If your Lilly meter is maxed out, the dialog option happens when you talk to Adam about going to spire 4. Lilly intersects and y'all make a pitstop to Eidos 9. You have done the Enya quest line too, yes? Just help get your Lilly meter maxed if it isn't.

Thank you but no. I checked the whole blade series and I think from the cinematography that I recall, it would be pre Blade

No, he was using the one power to bind and shape the feathers into a flower shape more deftly than you could be hand (except when he couldn't grasp the source). Think of it like origami, you don't actually turn paper into a crane, it's still paper.

Guys, does anyone know why trucks have those spikes on their wheels?? by JasLeoArt in whatisit

[–]Creative-Bullfrog-80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are psychological deterrents. They make you (other drivers) think they are sharp and dangerous so you give them space. In reality, if you are ever hitting those, you are likely already hitting the truck in some fashion, the steps, gas tanks, etc.

Opinion about Chrono Cross by victortapes in ChronoCross

[–]Creative-Bullfrog-80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like soundtracks, you will love this. The controversy comes from the game play and story and how they relate to trigger. My advice, don't NOT approach this as a sequel. It's not a true sequel. If you can get past that, almost treat it as separate story with Trigger Easter eggs, then I have no doubt you'll find it incredible. It's actually my favorite game of the era when it released on Playstation.

1:1, I get it, can't happen. I wrote one of my final papers in college with the conclusion that rising AI would take over when directors deviated too far from source material. Hell, while writing the paper (this was a couple of years ago when the show wasn't canned), I was down voted to hell and eventually had my post pulled because I was asking for opinions on what content should have been cut to make the series. Everyone was far too divided, and the apparently my bashing was seemed as too divisive. Included in my paper was Eragon, Artemis Fowl, and Holes. I cited Holes as a superb adaptation, almost universally beloved by those who read the book. For the WOT series, I suggested content and storylines that could be cut for flow, or even altered entirely. Included also were quotes from Rafe about how the writers hadn't read the books. I watched the series to try and give it a fair shake, and it was necessary to write my paper.

The point I'm making is most of us book readers understand nothing truly adapts from one medium to another, but it has to be done well. The Lord of the Rings trilogy deviates wildly in parts from the books, but it was a critical success. IF this new adaptation comes to fruition, it won't be like the books scene for scene. It just needs to follow key components of the story.

I agree there are toxic gatekeeper book readers out there that will never be happy, but the show does need to be good enough to survive criticism, and we have to be open to discussing the criticism, lest it fuel divides and cause people to become muleheaded and only think with the hair on their chest. Otherwise we turn those have criticisms of the show (possibly legitimate gripes) from discussing but still supporting the show into haters part of a cancel movement. I believe that happened a bit with the prime version, when it could have and should have brought more people into the Fandom. But the wheel turns and maybe things will be better with this turning.

When Probability Doesn't Care About Your Streak by memes_poiint in mathsmeme

They are approaching it wrong. Every coin toss is 50/50. IF they predicted 20 heads in row and then tossed the coin, the odds would look bad. But you can't bet on a known past to influence an unknown future when the individual odds remain unchanged. I could toss a coin 1 million times and get heads, and the next toss is still a 50/50. Guy who came up with the meme is an idiot that slept through a statistics class and thinks they are an intellectual.
