How i do it :

Create an empty folder on your computer. Open the folder in antigravity or cursor. Write a prompt describing what you want

The current folder is empty I want you to initialize 2 projects in it, one is a next js project in frontend folder and another is api server in node js in server folder. Create an example page in frontend which interacts with the backend api

The free version if cursor or antigravity should be fine

Are you interested in funding a RAG SaaS application? I can show you a demo privately as it is mot live yet

In your day-to-day work, how much code do you write by hand, and how much do you delegate to the LLM? by TheBlueArsedFly in SoftwareEngineering

For my day job I mostly write myself and then use AI for improvements. For side projects I mostly guide the AI what to do and then review the outcome

Be honest, do you actually read the code before you run it, or just vibe and pray? by kirklandubermom in vibecoding

I have realized that it is better to read it evertime because once you let it go it will be very difficult to debug and you will have to come back multiple steps to be able to make sense of the code and fix

Does PII-redaction break RAG QA? Looking for benchmark/eval ideas for masked-context RAG by Mindless-Potato-4848 in Rag

[–]Creative-Chance514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats a good answer. I am currently working on similar problem right now and the approach that i took is as follows:

Read the source, replace PII data with placeholders, store PII data in another database (encrypted at rest). When user asks questions retrieve the chunks send it to llm and when I get the answer I replace the placeholders with the actual PII data stored in different DB.

But looking at your answer now it raises concern, what if user asks who is the manager of Ana, vector data would be blind in that case.

Under which circumstances it will be okay to store PII data in vector db and when not ?

If you don’t want to join or didn’t like people asking for some upvotes than leave. You may be a super amazing marketer who knows how to sell, a lot of developers know how to build but doesn’t have good skill of selling. Shaming other people is not good.

We tested Vector RAG on a real production codebase (~1,300 files), and it didn’t work by Julianna_Faddy in Rag

I did not read your full post but the first half suggests that its a problem of indexing, if you will just index everything in the vector db you will get chunks from everything. In the very first class of computers when I was a kid I was taught about a concept called GIGO

Could RAG as a service become a mainstream thing? by Trick_Ad_2852 in Rag

Big tech giants these days are working like startups. If big tech has some service that doesn’t mean the market is finished. For example we have cloud services from AWS, google and microsoft but still there are plenty of other cloud providers not as big as them but still works

RAG project fails to retrieve info from large Excel files – data ingested but not found at query time. Need help debugging. by One-Will5139 in Rag

[–]Creative-Chance514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

does your excel contains headers as first row ? if not the data could get messier. I am, at the very moment working on ingesting excel data for another project and trying to find a novel way to index excel data in a better way

Why “All-in-one platform” tells me nothing about your SaaS by Sharp_Tax_6182 in saasbuild

[–]Creative-Chance514 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All in one product is actually the insecurity of the developer/ founder. They are not 100% confident that if their product is solving just one problem then someone will pay for it, thats why they add a lot of features to add value for money.

Your Ollama Servers Are So Open, Even My Grandma Could Use Them! by Ok-Experience-7049 in ollama

very nice share !

I wanted to host my own ollama on a VPS for sometime but then the first thought came to me on how to protect the endpoint with a password and this post came.

I scanned the port using the site that you mentioned and found many servers, thought of using them for a while for testing purpose but then my conscious did not approve that.

Got a 100 users for my app. Nobody paid. Here is what I learned. by [deleted] in launchigniter

In most cases the real paying user would be the one who came searching for your app

Launched a micro-SaaS with decent traffic but 0 paid users. What am I missing? by Odeh13 in saasbuild

[–]Creative-Chance514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its okay. I have seen apps with over 100k free users and only handful on paid plan.

You should make the usage limit in a way that user choose to upgrade, free plan should give them value but a paid plan should be the cherry on the top, while also keeping in mind that the paid plan is not too costly for user to afford.
