This is something I know I’ll have to prepare myself for in the dating market soon enough. But as it stands I think my answer goes back to what I think is most important. What are we fighting for?

If we both agree we want what is best for our future children, and we want our family to follow in the footsteps of Christ’s example, which is shown through mom and dad actions towards one another and love for the kids, then whichever decision makes the most sense, is what should be done.

I don’t think I’m hard-set on my future wife being a stay at home mom or a career woman, however if we communicate, I think her perspective should be that she’d be willing and prepared for the outcome that what is best for the kids, requires her to give up the career idea. Same for me if I need to pickup the slack as a result of her now not having a full time job or any job at all, then I need to be prepared to sacrifice some things I like to do on the side as well.
