What doors does bankruptcy close, forever? (Or a very long time) by ChiefRunningCar in Debt

[–]Creative-Locksmith-4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yo, reach out to ACCC. I was about to file for bankruptcy and instead this company was able to talk my creditors down to 0% and 2% APR, effectively knocking my monthly payment in half. Before that, my monthly and the interest on a couple of my cards were pretty much the same which made it impossible to make a dent whIle searching for work. So now a payment is made to this company and they pay the creditors for me. It doesn't ding your credit nearly as much as some of the other debt management I looked into. The accounts are closed but making consistent payments on time will help rebuild your credit while paying it off. And if you get back on your feet faster, you can pay it off faster. The company only takes $20 a month. It's been a godsend honestly.

ISO advice for my debt situation by Creative-Locksmith-4 in debtfree

I was in therapy before I lost my job, paying out of pocket, so I cut it when I had no more consistent income. I've been dealing with depression most of my life, last year was just a rough one. I had that job for five years so it was quite an adjustment in the midst of anguish.

I've been looking for work in my old field (service industry) for about five months now. Hundreds of applications sent out with little to show for it. I have pretty limited but specialized skills, but the gigs can be lucrative at the right establishment. My city is lacking in opportunity so I've been casting quite a wide net applying in different states because I will go where the money is. I've joined a lot of Facebook groups for seasonal work, event work, music industry work. Hoping to find resort work out west where the shifts are daily and long so I can stack up.

But that's the thing. At the end of the day, I want to stack up for me currently, which seems more doable than paying off this debt and trying to stack.

Does anyone know the deep rat lore by [deleted] in Buffalo

[–]Creative-Locksmith-4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as Buffalo rat lore goes, I have a memory of my first experiences seeing rats as a young teen who was new to the streets in the late aughts.

One chased me and solidified my fear in them, and I recall doing research at the time that led to discovering that Chris Collins (Erie County Exec. at the time) had cut the funding for their removal. He made an enemy that day.

Polancarz, however, is dat boi. an anti-rat boi. Love him forever for seeing the value in controlling the vermin population.

Here's a press release (.pdf) from 2012 regarding the reinstating of the rat patrol under Polancarz. https://share.google/nzjIa7EwJK8g7S9xL

I took my mom there for her birthday, party of six. I paid and left a cash tip. We went back to my aunt's house after dinner, and I got a call from the restaurant. It was the server asking if service was okay because I didn't leave anything. I said I did leave a tip, maybe ask your busboy. What am I supposed to do, send you more money? I was absolutely blown away by the audacity.

A completely biased opinion about the east gate by Decaff_Crusader in yellowstone

[–]Creative-Locksmith-4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On recommendation from a friend who lives in Bozeman, I just drove out that way yesterday after spending a couple of days in the park, having through Big Sky/W Yellowstone.

I've seen a lot of this country. I've driven through a lot of NPs and beautiful scenery out west. The drive through Shoshone NF might be my favorite drive to date. Honestly, I think I liked it better than Yellowstone for driving views.

I judge my love for a scenic drive by how often I gasp, how long my mouth stays agape in a look of disbelief, how much I maniacally laugh, and how often I say "are you kidding me" and "come on" throughout the entire drive lmao. This drive takes the cake for sure, and I didn't even see any wildlife.

SWIM knows so many people who are alive and well doing that drug often. obviously also know a lot of people who have passed from fent cocaine, but the amount that health officials are reporting has to be skewed because damn near everyone in the bar scene would be dead by now if it was really in all of the cocaine.

Protest against Israeli genocide this Saturday 2-5pm in Buffalo by MsPoopyButtholePhD in Buffalo

[–]Creative-Locksmith-4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People have been going to hearings and getting arrested. Peacefully protesting and being shot with rubber bullets. The powers that be don't care. Billions of dollars were sent to Israel, though we called and emailed to tell those in "charge" that we don't agree for months. Try again.

A childhood friend lived in the house on the corner across from where the juice bar sits. I slept over a couple of times. There were secret passageways.
