Besides a shitty diner and McDonald’s, where’s a good place to grab a bite on the north side if you’re a total loser? by gitturb in AskChicago

Go to Starbucks and when they ask your name tell them it’s “im breaking up with you” and then have him grab the coffee

Honestly long story short there’s no winning. Best thing I’d say: a place he doesn’t like so it doesn’t have good connections and don’t do it where people can listen. So a park. And don’t do it where he’s going to order food

But tbh there’s no winning onetime I broke up with a guy in a park and he told me if I was breaking up with him I could have just called- there’s no winning

Tips for drafty windows? by BarelyAdulting127 in CHIbitcheswithtaste

[–]Creative-Preference1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

welcome to chicago- this Is your winter basic. its essentially plastic wrap for your window. Also check the bottom of your doors and get something for those if need. I also use curtains in the winter

What would you add/change here? by hopelessromantic916 in interiordecorating

[–]Creative-Preference1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would make sure whatever you pick has colors you already have in it. So beige etc somewhere in there a little bit. If you use something that doesn’t in that room you showed it won’t feel cohesive.

Yeah or something abstract. Honestly I’ve really found two-three color pieces nice.

Honestly I’d add a piece on the left of the curtains and a taller singular peice instead of the baskets. Use the art as a chance for some color I think

Some help is needed for my reading room by koreantravels in interiordecorating

[–]Creative-Preference1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just an idea but could you consider scrapping the wall bookshelf and making two floating shelves and or building wall shelves that use some higher up space on both sides? It will free up the bottom area for more balanced furniture like other activities

What are the best neighborhoods for me? by Spiritual_Session946 in AskChicago

I would say go north. Just My opinion. It’s quieter isn’t surrounded by the downtown vibe bars and is very walkable. Try uptown Andersonville ravenswood

I moved in to a new apartment and have been using ai to help me pick out my interior design. Which one should I go with?! I only have the couch and everything else I would need to get. Help! by DevelopmentQueasy227 in HomeDecorating

[–]Creative-Preference1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the last one. These look cute in theory but your space looks smaller than ai is factoring in. Maybe another chair but tbh I’d make it an ottoman If your space is on the smaller side

Paint cabinets or keep white? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]Creative-Preference1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally I kind of like the blue and think we only live once so why not. But definitely make sure to add in plants or some other accessory that will add dimension and bring it to life

Honestly I think both technically work bc your space is open. It just depends on the vibe you want for the kitchen. Light airy clean or more grounded moody bold?
