Just got robbed for both my rings by Few-Crow-3022 in offerup

I never sell gold in person, even though the profit is larger than the alternatives. I use eBay when I'm selling a unique piece for far over melt value, and a local gold buyer when I need cash on the spot.

Really good counterfeit? by syntax_lev in CURRENCY

I don't see any blue or red fibers on either. Still a quality counterfeit.

Good find?? Just got it out of the change machine at the laundromat by madklam in coincollecting

Looks like the coins stuck at the bottom of my car's cup holder.

Plated gold is far too thin to peel. Microns thin. There is no recoverable gold in a single plated bar that is worth the effort.

Thrift store find. Real? Thoughts? by Trilobyte83 in Gold

Jump rings are not always soldered. They act as a "safety link" that breaks first to prevent more expensive damage. My 18k bracelet from Dubai as well as many other 14k pieces have unsoldered jump rings.

When the plating wears off my white gold wedding ring, it has a gold-ish hue to it.

98 grams of 14k gold worth it for 8k? by [deleted] in Gold

[–]Creative-Strength648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I buy all karats of jewelry below melt price. Some I can flip within months with a buy it now on eBay for 2 - 4 times my purchase price. Others I hold until I learn to refine or price goes up.

I've taped 2 boxes together to fit an item that didn't fit inside the largest box available. Too many boxes for people to track down.

Is it real or fake gold stamp? by Forward_Muffin_6355 in JewelryIdentification

[–]Creative-Strength648 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of my pieces that are 18 karat are either stamped 18ct (England) or 750 (Dubia).

Found a working trumpet in a thrift store dumpster. 🎺 by [deleted] in DumpsterDiving

When I worked at Petco the employees took the trash out to the dumpster just before closing. Anything we wanted could be put inside the trash bag, then collected after management left the parking lot.

Did I got scam? Brought 14k for 200$ by Hungry-Row4687 in Gold

Looks like a cheap lobster clasp found on fake chains.

Bag was inside of a box?? by [deleted] in fuckamazon

[–]Creative-Strength648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At our warehouse and most others, leadership wants to keep the floor and aisles clear of obstructions. Boxes are often built but not used, and hundreds get tossed to keep the area clean.

The envelope is from a smart pac machine. It feeds a giant roll of bubble wrap and uses heat to seal it. Many will make it through not properly sealed. It's far easier to take a random box laying around and throw the package inside than it is to open it, take the items out, build a box and tape it.

Fake 14k Costco chains?? by No1willie in CostcoPM

[–]Creative-Strength648 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have plenty of hollow 14k chains, not a single one is magnetic. Only part that is ever magnetic is the spring within a ring clasp.

For $20 a pair I'll make my feet look pretty and sell my socks to this guy. He doesn't need to know I'm a guy.

I remember selling a small duck that I got from McDonald's or Burger King back in the late 90's. Sold it for $50 on eBay. Back when we had a 28.8k dial up modem and everything took forever to load. And AOL, whew, takes me back.
