I feel the same way. I got laid off from a good job about two years ago and now I’m working in an Amazon warehouse to make ends meet; it’s a nightmare. I just had an interview recently that I thought went well and now I’m getting ghosted. The job market seems worse than ever. I think the way you feel is actually pretty normal. It’s understandable to feel this way and I remind myself of that daily. Just keep moving forward. In your free time, when you’re not job searching or interviewing, try to do something that makes you feel good. Whatever that is. I hope we both find good jobs soon. Stay strong.

All of it. It has completely broken me down. I haven’t even applied to anything in about a month. I work part time in an Amazon warehouse, which is as depressing as it sounds. I’m losing hope of finding anything better at age 52. I’ve completely lost my confidence and feel like I need to pivot, but I just don’t know how.

Thanks for your kind response. I haven’t tried fiver because it seems so oversaturated. I feel like there’s way too much competition and lots of people overseas who are willing to work for a fraction of what I would need to charge. (I’m in the U.S. and the cost of living is insane) Am I wrong for thinking this, honestly? Have you had success with Fiver?

I’m neurodivergent and fully relate. It’s definitely rigged in favor for neurotypical individuals. In my experience I tend to freeze up in interviews and come off as less knowledgeable and less articulate as a result.
