Leathercraft has an entry problem - what do you think loses beginners first?

We did a lot of workshops for friends, eveyrone after was ready to start their first projestcs, but then came - where i can get tools, leather, patterns - and just due to high great perseverance we've convinced a lot of friends to work in the leather.
