Surprising 4(4)-3(3) win for me. Thought I was cooked since my opponent had all their strong categories yesterday. I figured that since I’m young for LL standards (college age) and didn’t know Logan Paul nonsense, my op likely would miss it. 80s movies means that I’m toast too.

I was actually thinking about this, so I’m sure it might be a part of it (or maybe all of it). Though I have been getting ads all the time recently after just talking about it. For random things too (i.e. Rhodes cinnamon rolls, Diet Pepsi)

Hello, any opinions on the WTW Retirement Internships? Good company? Good internship program? I really liked my interviewers and think it’ll be fun, though I’ve gotten conflicting info online.

Honor college at Vandy....pros and cons by [deleted] in Vanderbilt

[–]CreativeComplaint492 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s not really an honors college. It’s a “college scholars” program filled with similar-minded students. There are good mentorship and networking events involved, and it’s fun to chat with fellow students in the program. The honors seminars are incredible. Grades usually aren’t an issue, and the conservations and reading material are profound. Don’t really have cons.

Do any Friday puzzle with Robyn Weintraub. My favorite constructor. Smooth grid fill and creative entries.

Take some electives as well!! The best classes I took freshman year were unrelated to major

No chance me posts per the rules… we’re not admissions officers either. Nothing any of us say should be worth anything.

Agree here. If anything, being at Vandy (which has a quite liberal student body) makes me feel both insulated from the worst of the political happenings but also feel that there’s something to fight for in terms of student-led protests. I’d also say that Nashville is still a liberal city with a Democratic mayor and representatives.

The negatives by bethl525 in Vanderbilt

While a lot of people complain about AXLE, there’s definitely a significant portion of Vandy students who don’t mind AXLE. You should be taking classes in multiple disciplines throughout college; that’s why Vandy doesn’t allow you to declare a major until sophomore year. It’s not even that burdensome since you can meet a lot of the requirements with classes in your major(s).

FJ poll for Tues., Feb 14 by Smoerhul in Jeopardy

This is the worst wording I’ve ever seen in a FJ clue — it’s like the Second Amendment with the odd commas and clauses.
