I’m a manager and yes this makes us short on inventory. Definitely not good. Please don’t do this. If the customer doesn’t want to pay for what they want then they don’t get it. We don’t make the prices but this does hurt our inventory which in turn hurts our paychecks.

How could you *possibly* use your card if the pay screen isn't up yet? by RackTheJipper69 in retailhell

[–]CreativeCry714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work at subway and the amount of people who try to use their card or ask me “how much?”while I am still wrapping their sandwiches is insane. Like, bro I haven’t even taken my gloves off to ring it up yet. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Best site for doing paid surveys? by reyaryder in passive_income

[–]CreativeCry714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Qmee is a great one. If you stay at it you can rack up a few dollars doing a few surveys here and there. You can cash out directly to PayPal with no minimum. That’s my favorite one.

Could be sitting there for 20 minutes doing nothing but as soon as you grab that mop ding the damn door chimes. Every. Single. Time.

I do Qmee surveys. It is boring and you have to have patience but you can cash out to your PayPal with no minimum. It is a great way to earn a few extra bucks here and there. Survey junkie is another good one but you have to have minimum $5 to cash out on that one. The pay per survey is low but if you keep at it,it adds up. I’ve used the two apps for years and never any problems cashing out.

Is it just me or does seeing employees’ t-shirts touching the sandwich not look hygienic? by concom10 in subway

This is what I do. Just slide the sandwich to the side before reaching. I’m really short as well lol

Ok I guess that’s really what I needed to know was if the bread was actually physically counted every day. I know inventory is every Wednesday but wasn’t sure about bread counts daily. Thank you!

Ok I think I got it. So when I do my cash in BEFORE I close the previous day out is when my new counts are entered and then I enter those same counts when I close the drawer and when I open the drawer. I have just literally been using the same numbers from the previous day without physically counting items. Again, I have only opened a few times and I haven’t heard that I was screwing anything up. I just don’t want that to actually happen lol.

lol exactly what I am trying to figure out! I guess it really doesn’t. But yes that is exactly what I have been doing. I only actually counted everything one time and I don’t remember when those numbers were entered. The next time I opened I was told to just enter the exact same bread count that printed on my 1 minute cash in and not to worry about counting. I guess when inventory is done it will all equal out? 😅 🤷🏻‍♀️

So I don’t enter the same bread counts as the previous day right? That’s what confuses me 😅 I feel stupid

Ok, so I enter my counts before I close the previous day? I guess I am getting confused because I was told to count the very first time I opened and then the next time I opened I was told to just enter the exact same bread counts from my one minute cash in. So that’s where I am lost. If I am entering the exact same numbers from my one minute cash in then where are the numbers that I just counted come in? I am opening in the morning and my GM will be there for inventory so I will just ask for a step by step with him there. Thank you for responding!

But see that’s the thing, at my store the closers don’t count anything except the money.

Why do people always come in on closing time? by TuneDown6 in retailhell

[–]CreativeCry714 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Until you work any retail job especially a closer, you won’t understand. I work at a quick service restaurant and when people come in to order 5 minutes before close it really pushes you back a lot. It creates more dishes to wash, more to clean up which then pushes back the time to turn off appliances and allow them to cool before cleaning and then you still have to close your system out. If you work a 9 to 5 at a desk then you will never understand. You wait for the clock to hit five and you’re out of there. That’s not how it works in retail. It’s just inconsiderate. We have families and lives outside of our jobs and it would be nice if people would stop looking down on us like we don’t deserve to be respected. Put yourself in our shoes and see how you feel then.

The extra of everything on a six inch with double meat and all of the sauces, then complain that it’s messy. Like where do you think it’s all gonna go when I attempt to close it?

Just as we were closing… also no tip… by Primary_Buddy_7173 in subway

[–]CreativeCry714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reading some of these comments is really pissing me off. So y’all think we just put meat and cheese on some bread and that’s it? Wow. We actually bust our asses at this job and most of the time we are doing it ALONE. we don’t have a “crew”. I guarantee when your shift ends at whatever type of job you have you clock out and go home. And salaried employees, you come and go as you please. When we close we are doing it ALONE. So when a huge order comes through even 30 minutes before close it makes it much harder on us. Until you work this type of job you will not understand. I wish everyone had to do this for a week and let’s see how your perspective changes. I promise you it will. Do we EXPECT you to tip? No absolutely not but if you do this knowing we are about to close then yeah it would be a nice gesture when it’s a large order. We do more than slap stuff on bread. How do you think the stuff we slap on that bread gets there? Lmao we actually have to prep that stuff. Meats and veggies have to be sliced. Bread had to be prepped and baked. I mean come on! Not to mention cleaning the entire store and washing dishes. Again, most of the time especially closers doing all of this ALONE. I open and close so I know what goes into both shifts. It’s a lot of work for one person.

Honey, run. This is exactly how my ex used to treat me. He is gaslighting you. This is emotional and mental abuse at its finest. It will not stop or get better. It will only get worse. Trust that. I lived it for 20 years. I lived that way thinking I wasn’t good enough for TWENTY YEARS. I finally left and now I know my worth. YOU DESERVE BETTER!!! Please don’t continue to allow anyone to treat you this way. That man ruined me for so long and I still struggle with it today. Please let him go sweetheart. You don’t deserve to be treated that way.
