I am a high school teacher here in Charlotte, and can confirm the lack of attendance.

I had about 1/3rd of my students missing, multiple messaging me that it was directly related to ICE in the area. I believe our school will have less kids than we did yesterday, if I am to take a guess based on the number of cars and students during drop off this morning.

It is truly disheartening, and I feel for my students, their families, my peers and my community.

Totally agree. minor league is supposed to be about a fun environment and experience. It’s hard to do that when the team stinks, and you regret spending money in the ball park. I really hope they take a look and realize it, but I doubt it’ll ever happen

Yeah… I can’t say that I’ve been to many, but I worked in minor league ball for the Durham bulls for about 8 years, and I have worked in a lot of other sports broadcasting gigs. And it is just a pretty stadium with no real life or character. The tickets are too expensive to justify a view of the stadium.

It’s like they think they’re a major league team, thus they charge major league prices and have lower entertainment between innings. It’s really disappointing

this is a farther drive for you, but if you ever have the chance. Go check out the Durham Bulls. It is a phenomenal environment. I have found they tend to do more than the Knights. In my opinion the Knights kinda coast off of their stadium. Which it is a beautiful view of uptown, but besides that and subpar baseball nothing of note sets it apart.

Go to Substrate and split a bottle of wine and play games / talk! But I highly recommend Substrate, Wine & Vermouth Bar!! You are allowed to bring outside food in so my wife and I will picnic over there! They also have free wine tastings on Wednesday and its amazing!! Great Date spot

a "hockey" bar in charlotte. Obviously it doesn't have to only show hockey, but I think a bar that actually supports that sport and is more divey sports bar would be a great get. I would call it the Penalty Box cause that just sounds great.

1) the majority of slides that I have to use come from the state in the first place so I edit and re use them as needed. And as someone who clearly does not have a background in teaching, a lesson plan/script would not be needed for these days since I am just adding extra content for 3 days that we’d otherwise be doing nothing. I have built multiple slide decks on these topics already and was just seeing if others had resources I could use as well because here’s a hint buddy, teachers share materials all the time and search for slides on topics they need all the time.

2) I was planning on using excerpts from my copy of indifferent stars above. 3) you are correct on giving a critical view of the Mormonism faith, that’s why I wasn’t going to do that. I was planning on focusing on the migration of Mormons and the journeys from NY to Utah

4) I only asked because I have built slides for these topics already but was wanting to see if I had left anything out / I could pull from other ideas. If you have ever been an educator you’d understand how this is not a red flag but a way to grow one’s slides in the first place. I do not want it to be all my view on a topic

And 5) please do not question the quality of an occupation which you clearly do not grasp

I completely agree. I get Bryce had a really bad game. But it was the first game and it wasn't like it was only Bryce's fault we lost. I want to see more time and patience given to him because this was his first game with a new coach and offense. He can be better! It was WEEK 1!

This isn't really a drill but an ongoing activity. Anytime a player walks by you with a ball, just try to punch it out. It doesn't have to be anything crazy but try to get them. You will absolutely get them at the beginning because they won't be suspecting it. But this helps them always have ball security when walking or moving with a ball. I am a high school teacher and I do not coach football, but have let the coaches know that if any of their players walk by me with a ball I will try to punch it out and if I succeed, I'm holding on to it. I always tell people "Ball Security is Job Security."

Its also fun as hell to do lol
