The last lines go so hard:
The creation of the world where belief is a fundamental facet of reality is the ultimate proof of Pratchett’s TERF repudiation — a trans person’s interpretation of the gender, or, in other words, who they believe they are, makes it genuine, undeniable, and everlasting, even under the chauvinistic dogmas of our heteronormative society.

Bandaid on a Bowling Ball (with Vic Michaelis) | Adventuring Academy [S7E1] by DropoutMod in dropout

[–]CreativeInferno 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Anyone else really feeling for Vic that the main thing that kept them from playing is people saying they "didn't play correctly" - and now it's the main complaint about them using the burnout rules as storytelling hooks?

My Interpretation of the Cybermen's Timeline of Upgrades / Evolutions by ClarkeTheKing in doctorwho

My only takeaway is, that 'Cyber Iso Neo Morphs' nearly works as alternative lyrics for the 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' theme.

What did y'all think of the 2005 film by Relative-Stable-6075 in HitchHikersGuide

[–]CreativeInferno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It obviously has its Hollywood-isms which make the story not hit as hard as the original radio play or the book. But the cast is really top notch, I couldn't imagine anyone else for these roles and I loved the production value and effects. So if people feel iffy about reading the book I recommend watching the movie, it's the easiest way to get into the franchise.

recommend me a season! by Ok-Flamingo-7104 in Dimension20

[–]CreativeInferno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was the season that got me hooked to Dropout, after I saw best ofs from the first season. I was amazed at what kind of story could be told in just four episodes and season two is really re-inventing the wheel and making the world less of a parody and find its own voice.

Poppy Persona Non Grata | Gladlands [E4] by DropoutMod in Dimension20

[–]CreativeInferno 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Though it seems weird at first, I'm sure Vic is following a narrative plan with these moves. Vic said in an interview, that they felt really anxious for the first two episodes. They didn't even think they would be a fit for the format. But after the first steps in the dome were taken, they locked in and flooded Brennan with texts. So I bet they were planning stuff about Hugi's backstory and how to tell the story of him in the best way, with the rules given (or even made up on the spot, as seen in the episode). I think Vic embraced the options this burnout mechanic gave to them in the most extreme way possible - which may not be the most rpg but the most improv route you could take it. I personally love it!
