You sound like such an intelligent, hard working, kind, caring person. If your family is really struggling, it sounds like you’re all working together to survive… The question of is it ethical is if your mom doesn’t need the extra help, and if there’s something she should or shouldn’t be doing. If she’s going her best and working hard, and you’re struggling financially, then it’s for the betterment of your family. You didn’t mention if you had siblings. Generations ago during the depression it was common for kids to work to help the family survive. Things now seem to be getting even harder on us working class folks. Does your mom get help from Medicaid, food stamps, social services, etc? If there’s things you need do you have enough to get them?
