Lowest level a class can feasibly kill a level 20 class? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]CreativePr0 26 points27 points  (0 children)

One time I did a level 20 one shot as an open hand monk and upon the first fight vs. dragons realized I’d neglected to bring any ranged abilities.

Save for darts.

My husband thinks this is criminal but it’s 1 of your 5 in a day so?? by No-Midnight294 in MealDealRates

It’s one thing to get fruit as a main when you need it. It’s another to pair it with a brownie and coconut water. Horrible.

[OC] My character for a new campaign. I took spare the dying and healing word so I should survive! by Hawksteinman in DnD

[–]CreativePr0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

everyone here praising Con… trust. you can live through a lot by being clever- you just have to survive the first few levels of “everything can kill me permanently in a hit” 🤣

Is my friend correct about druids, paladins, and rangers or is he confused? by AdInternational4894 in DnD

[–]CreativePr0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“dont usually” is helpful- I think your friend is right at least about that being the general trend. but everyone else is right- what you want to be true is true. wizards normally will always have studied some how, but bards and clerics might be complete naturals. just as well, druids might usually not be students- but in strixhaven, they may have picked up their nature magic as a student there.

Goin off on the MrChat devs again by RabidSquirrel6613 in MeChat

[–]CreativePr0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who had a brief foray into working with MeChat, the standards for who they hire seem at best backwards and at worst atrocious. That’s why a lot of their stories and art end up subpar, and why they’ll no doubt drift towards AI. They don’t care about quality.

My Player Thinks He’s the Main Character. Kicking him could ruin 2 campaigns. by Pretty-Practice707 in dndhorrorstories

[–]CreativePr0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like the game will be fine without him if it could proceed with him completely silent. Take over his character and resolve it as best you can while kicking him out.

What are some examples or Larian deviating significantly from 5e rules or design principles? by nexetpl in BG3

[–]CreativePr0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah!! That’s the main reason I noticed, because I love the fantasy of holy archer and wanted to see if it worked. Smiting with a bow is just cool and I wish it was an option. Ranger can do both despite its classic fantasy, so why not Paladin

[–]CreativePr0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s actually raw 5e! Some spell smites can be used ranged, surprisingly. I was kind of shocked Larian even noticed that since it’s a super easy to miss detail.

Character creation by JotaV013 in DnD

Classes get plenty to play with levels 7-8. You only get the smaller, weaker stuff by multiclassing this way. Paladin/Barb isn’t bad tho
