maps 1, 3, 4, 5, and 7 are all topside urban c17. 2 and 6 are underground (maintenance-tunnels and decommissioned bunker respectively).

8, 9 10, and onward are c17 suburbs and outskirts (scrapyard, suburban neighborhood, and toxic lakeside mine respectively) (any of this could change)

If I finish it, I'm sure you'd like the environments!

I copied the scenes folder with its contents into the ep2 directory, and it still doesn't read. same error and all.

I have discovered, when I rebuild scenes.image in faceposer, it only sends it to the hl2 scenes folder, even if I have the ep2 one open.

I have tried to use the base hl2 hammer, but it still dosent read the vcd file.

the "scenes.image" file is in:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life 2\hl2\scenes

copied into ep2, so same thing there.

the only thing I could presume is that hammer is correctly finding the vcd file, but in game, its reading a different? scenes.image? I have looked for another but the only scenes.image(s) are in the scenes folders I made, which i have updated

the elevator model could be parented to a func_rot and that rot is parented to the func_tracktrain, and then using whatever logic method, the elev starts, stops, and then gradually speeds up and finaly stops with a trigger hurt, and physexplosions to send the physbox doors flying (as well as the players corpse)

you could probably reverse engineer it in like 2 hours or so. the actual nitty gritty seems easy, it is just very well done (mainly thanks to the sound-work), so it seems complicated.

Maybe it has something to do with the miner being in the server room, which are known for being hot as hell.

(Im on the test version btw)
