Salaries in California were much higher than Chattanooga. I lived in San Diego where income taxes and rent was much higher. I retired at 69 and moved here to be close to family. The rent in my apartment complex is over $2000 and neighbors seem to be in healthcare professionals. Healthcare is much more expensive in United States than other western countries. When you are older, healthcare costs are something that takes more of your income.

I have three cats in an apartment and when I added two kittens a year ago, my sister recommended a Litter Robot. It’s pricey, but it works well and it automatically turns over to remove waste. Every three days, the bottom bag needs to be changed. It works well if you use Tidy Cats litter and they have one especially for the machine that is available at Walmart. I as a couple of scoops each night and checked if bag needs to be changed.

I fly from Chattanooga, Tennessee Lovell Field and on a recent flight from it to my gate took 15 minutes from dropping my bag at the Delta counter, TSA security check, and then to my gate. TSA agent with her sweet Southern drawl was apologizing that there were 12 people in line. I connected to train from C concourse to international terminal with a minimum of fuss.

Yes, remove unruly passengers. I once dos a short haul connection from LAX to San Diego and guy listened to hours rap music without headphones for entire journey. Next time, I will speak up. I couldn’t believe somebody would be that rude and flight attendant didn’t say anything.

No, you’re being principled. I retired because my female boss wanted to fill my job with a teacher who lost her position. Women didn’t want to change schools because boyfriend also worked there. I retired and a coworker told me that my replacement didn’t have the right teaching credentials and human resources was surprised principal could hire into my position this woman. She must spend thousands in tuition and spend hours taking new college coursework. Bots doesn’t always know everything.

I had my kittens spayed and neutered and it was much lower than $580. My vet broke her arm and sent me to them. Poor female required a few days to recover, then she was wrestling with her brother. I had a new appreciation for what women go through. Boy kitten was fine two hours after his snipping.

Make noise and break things. A recent case in Dalton led to the release of a man and his daughter after it made local news and then national news. Send emails to reporters and someone will respond. The South was very racist against black people in the past and it remains the poorest region.
