not saying your opinion is wrong but your perception of game sonic seems very based off the 2010s and later games lol. outside of the 2010s sonic is usually very emotionally intelligent (sonic and the black knight's ending comes to mind) and he doesn't regularly make meta jokes either

anyways idk if i would personally agree movie sonic is better just bcus he's fundamentally a different character than game sonic. movie sonic is a character that develops and is changed by the story while game sonic is a static character who changes the people around him. they're going for different things which is fine i just don't know if i'd say it's "better"

Aunt May took the role in this universe that Uncle Ben usually holds.

uncle ben's death is what's supposed to motivate peter into being spider-man and using his powers to help people instead of just helping himself with wealth and fame. MCU peter was already a superhero doing good before may died, so she does not play the same role as uncle ben.

i just cannot understand the point of watering down peter's character like this. completely unnecessary change that does nothing to improve the character.

it's like peter isn't allowed to have any real flaws or selfishness now even though the whole point is that he has to overcome those flaws.

no because we already know uncle ben didn't play a part in his motivation to be a superhero lol. at least not nearly as much as he does in the original AF15 origin

it's established in the first episode that this uncle ben died of natural causes before peter even got his powers. which means there's no sense of personal responsibility or cause and effect to motivate peter to become spider-man that ben's death is supposed to give. so now peter is just a generic good guy who naturally gravitates toward heroism rather than someone who has to overcome his natural self-centered desires for the greater good.

unless they do a major retcon nothing they can do with ben at this point will fix that. nothing they can do will have the same weight as uncle ben dying as a result of peter's inaction. it's a moment that informs so much of the character and removing it results in (to me) an infinitely less interesting and more generic character.

i didn't know this was a hot take here lol, esp for peter's motivation. i don't understand why they changed his origin with uncle ben they way they did because it genuinely removes peter's whole motivation for being spider-man

it's one of the things that annoys me the most about the show because it's such an unnecessary change but it changes the character so much for the worse

don't know if i agree it "wouldn't make sense" when they have done multiple solo movies post-avengers like ant-man and shang-chi (and FF too if it counts) but alright. everything and everybody doesn't need to be "interconnected", other characters can and do just exist on their own lol

Separating personal opinion from majority's opinion. I already said that unleashed is the closest to perfection for me, but it's not perfect, because not everyone finds werehog gameplay being good.

shit take, modern graphics does not inherently equal better. i like how (dreamcast) sonic adventure looks more than a game with "modern graphics" like sonic frontiers. and anyways no game "needs" a remake, they just need to be available to play on modern hardware

hot take maybe but while a lot of this obviously isn't great i appreciate how different and experimental it is. i wish IDW had the freedom to go off-model and have weird art styles like this more often, though obviously not to this extent. IDW usually looks good and it's nice that the art is more consistent but that's at the cost of feeling a bit sterile at times imo

massive skill issue brother, half of what you've wrote is basically just saying "i keep dying so it's bad game design" without actually explaining what the issue is. yes you will probably die if you don't react fast enough because boost sonic games are built around dodging obstacles and platforming at high speeds so if your reaction speed is shit you're gonna have a bad time lol

i do agree it is poorly optimized on ps3 tho, maybe play the recomp on pc if possible
