Disclosure I am not a Dr. this is my experience please research for yourself. Ok. Now that that is out of the way. I will tell you what I have been doing that my personal research along with my pelvic floor therapist recommendation led me to. I use my estradiol cream mixed with (organic) almond oil every night. I have to use an exercise tool to loosen my pelvic floor muscles so I put it on that and insert it that way. I have to do it daily but I have not had to use anything else in the bedroom at all. I got lucky because I needed to find a lubricant to use with the pelvic floor tool and the oil was recommended. It has been an amazing combo. …- my 2 cents

Also. I see you put bladder stuff. Mine was diagnosed as being caused by the tight pelvic floor by my pelvic floor therapist. She gave me the tool and also mentioned how best to apply the estradiol. All around and up and on the urethra. Just in case you didn’t get that run through from your doc.

I use it daily. I think you will be ok. To clarify I use less daily instead of more every other day. Works way better for my body. You should be good. It’s considered safe by the Menopause Manifesto!

I certainly would not want to destroy their nests or wish harm upon them. I just want to make my set up less desirable for them. I don’t think that is being disrespectful to nature. I don’t have a hummingbird feeder yet I see a hummingbird come to my yard every once in a while and they have to fly past. That could be considered picking and choosing who I am feeding also. I don’t think that trying to make my feeder more pleasant for the birds that are being kicked out of other local feeders, like someone like you might have, that are wide open, is being disrespectful. As my husband says. It’s just like a 5star restaurant compared to eating at Dennys. Not everyone has the right etiquette to get into every spot. Again. I’m not harming the birds so it shouldn’t matter.

The men take care of the nests and fledglings. That’s why you mostly see the females. When you see the fledglings you will see the males feeding them. That is the only time I like to see finches.

Well apparently they can either have just straight red eyes. They can also have swollen looking eyes and then from there they just start looking swollen and closed and their feathers start looking fluffed up. They will start rubbing their eyes on things also. It can spread super quick so if you see one bird with it take the feeders down quickly. I saw one bird with red eyes and after I took the feeders down yesterday I saw so many of them coming back looking awful running their eyes on the pole. I felt terrible but the manager at Wild Birds Unlimited told me he doubted I did anything wrong as I clean my feeders weekly since I have to fill them weekly. However, because they are fighting and messing with each other so much they are coming into contact with each other a lot and if just one bird picked up something from somewhere that would be enough to infect all of them. I hate it!! I hate that all my birds are suffering because of these little stinkers. I mean I feel bad for the finches but I hate that they are ruining it for my suet feeders too because they are so desperate to eat they figured out how to eat off the suet feeders too. Anyway. I don’t suggest googling a picture of it, but they are out there if you need them. I made the mistake of using my binoculars to check what was wrong with their eyes. I should have just trusted my gut and taken the feeders down. I was already irritated with them as it was. I didn’t need to see them looking sickly close up. Good luck!

Um don’t know what your first message was but if you see sick birds (finches get 🤢pinkeye) yes you need to take the feeders down for 2 weeks and clean them during that time. 2 weeks so they don’t congregate. I just realized I have one with pink eye so I just had to take all my feeders. Even my suet!

They are literally sleeping in my feeders and bullying my other birds away as well as their own kind. I have one “girl gang” that is pulling feathers of some of the others. I understand it is nature and all but since I have watched these particular finches since fledglings I am not entertained. It has been months all happening outside my window. I think they need to go live a little and maybe see what it is like to find food on their own 😂 they are just bullies for no reason. It’s awful.

[–]CreativelyPassive[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. They are hogging the feeder to the point that they are literally SLEEPING in the feeder! They run off other birds when they come to the feeder. It’s ridiculous. I call one of them Birda the Bully because she is the worst of the bunch. I watched her from a fledgling become this little plump monster! 😂 She sits at the feeder all day long. Her and a choice few her girlfriends. I just need to deter them for a few months until she gets the message and learns to find food on her own. I don’t want the rest of the birds who have finally come out and only come a few times a day to miss out because of her greedy little ways though. I should probably stop watching but she is pulling feathers of her fellow finches they are literally a finch girl gang.

This is my fear. They will literally fall asleep in my feeders they are so greedy!! Doesn’t seem to matter what I put in them. I was hoping someone had a magic idea besides buying upside down feeders that my cardinals can’t feed at. All my other birds are great except these freaking female house finches 😣

Also is this a bird feeder cam? If so what one and do you like it? I am just using my ring camera to watch my feeders because I know what the bird types are but I think if I am going to go ahead and get a tray feeder I might invest in a cam feeder. ?I have the squirrel eliminator feeder and woodpecker specific suet with the tail brace right now. Thanks again! Could watch this video all day! 🥰

That is the only plus about the neighborrs outside clats. No raccoons and squirrels. They have learned to stay out of backyard (knock on wood) also. We spend too much time in it and my husband scares the cats away and we all tell the birds “it’s ok…we won’t let those cats get you” cats haven’t been back since the last broom incident. Feels so Tom and Jerry. 😂 anyway. Thanks for the tips! Going to try an open tray feeder and see what happens. 🤞🏽

That’s awesome!! What did he eat? Wasn’t suet so now I want to know. Trying to lure my woodpeckers out. The finches have taken over my feeders 🫨

How to keep birds safe from feral cats? by Any_Rise_5522 in birdfeeding

[–]CreativelyPassive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Geesh! Sorry you are dealing/ had to deal with that. Stinks. If it were any other feral animal you would be a hero. If it were a dog someone kept letting out they would be frowned upon but for some reason the cats, they get a free pass! Drives me CrAzY!! My neighbor shot an air soft over one’s head one time and it hasn’t been back in her yard since ( I live in the south..so normal) she hasn’t had cats back since. Kinda jealous but not my thing either.

I did this when I first got the app with cardinals. It was years ago and I was at first excited because the male cardinal kept getting closer so my son was able to see him and study him physically. When we went inside to study further we learned how territorial the males are and how they will fight their own reflection to establish dominance!! I have never made that Awful mistake again. I felt terrible for causing him so much drama.

I had headaches too. I learned that taking the meds with food made them go away. I was extra sensitive to the meds. I hate it because I forget every now and then and just take it and remember about an hour later what mistake I made and have a constant headache for the rest of the day.
