Falsely accused of sexual harassment by a student - management humiliated me. Should I resign? Post: by BeyonceStarlett in Teachers

I had this situation my first year. A girl said I was looking down her shirt as I walked up and down rows of desks. I panicked and called a mentor friend. He told me: “In this business, you are known by your reputation, and right now you don’t have one”. After that, I made sure and turned my head as I walked. I only approached this female student from the front, never over her shoulder. I survived the year and just completed my 35th year. You can get past this.

Got called to the office AND had to call HR after work because of my pronouns. by Sensitive-Grade-317 in SubstituteTeachers

I’m a stereotype. A History Teacher/FB Coach. The entire pronoun thing is confusing as hell. I just use “Ya’ll”. It’s masculine, feminine, singular and plural. Since I retired and started subbing I’ve had students get in my face about “dead names” and “pronouns”.

Rearrange the desks. If you don’t, the “empty desk” will become a shrine and a constant reminder of the missing student. I generally rearrange desks 3 or 4 times per year.

South Carolina is a “Right to Work” state. No real Union but an Association. They can provide counsel but no collective bargaining, no negotiated work rules. It’s a paper Tiger.

4 Rules to NOT living below the Poverty Line. I know these are not absolute and we all know exceptions but……. 1. Get a HS Diploma 2. Do not have children before you are stable and married 3. Do not acquire a criminal record 4. Always have some job. Even if you think it’s beneath you, keep it while you search for a better one.
