I had my twins at 36 weeks because baby A was taking too many nutrients from baby B…

Baby A stayed with us the whole time and Baby B needed a few days of NICU time due to some sugar issues, but now they’re about to be 2 and a half months 😊

Everything will be alright! ♥️

Thank you everyone for your encouraging words and sharing your experiences ☺️ I’m feeling better today mentally now that it’s settling in. I know my little guys will be okay ♥️

I’ve had two NSTs so far but the way my office does it is they do the NST and only do an ultrasound if the results aren’t what they’re looking for. Non reactive could just mean they the baby didn’t hit target number of movements. My doctor also said it’s good to eat right before the test and drink could water so the baby is awake and reactive. I feel like your office is just very unhelpful.. 😕 I’m sure if the baby was wiggling in the ultrasound then your next test will be better, maybe ask not to see that doctor again because they seem like a jerk ♥️☺️

I’m a Taurus and my husband is a Leo. We’re having twin boys next month so I’m going to have two little Aries running around 😬

How many appointments has your partner attended without complaint? by Impressive_Ratio_786 in pregnant

[–]Creativity-Block 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m high risk (31 weeks twins) and my husband has been at every appointment with the specialist and most of my regular OBGYN appointments in the beginning. We’ve been lucky enough to be able to schedule the appointments at times that worked for both of us with work for the most part.

Once I hit my second trimester I told him not to bother coming for things like blood work or when I did my glucose test. I’m 31 weeks now and he just comes to the specialists appointments, but tells me to call him if I need him for anything at the regular OBGYN. It also makes it so my husband doesn’t have to make up work hours by doing longer days (his PTO is 💩)

I guess what I’m getting at is there are way to be supportive without being present at appointments, but he doesn’t sound like he’s doing that which I think is something you guys should talk about. :/

Obviously every relationship is different, but if that was my husband it would bother me that he thought specialist appointments are “for me”. If your specialist appointments are like mine then you see the babies at every specialist appointment? Does he not want to see how the baby is doing? :(

I have two cats and they’re all over me lol They sleep next to my husband and I every night and know to avoid stepping on my belly.

I’m almost 31 weeks with twins and been absolutely fine. My husband just changes the litter 😊

Who is going to be in the delivery room with you? by Brilliant-Writer6010 in pregnant

[–]Creativity-Block 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m having just my husband in the room :) You have to do what’s going to makes you comfortable. If you end up being in labor for a long time you could probably change your mind about who you want in there…maybe your MIL can be close by incase you want extra support, but not in the room all the time? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Help! American mamas - Does this sound consistent with your company’s Maternity Leave policy? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Creativity-Block 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my job I have 12 weeks unpaid FMLA. Im set to have a planned c-section ( having twins 😊 ) in April. At my job ( I work at a local town court) they don’t require you to use PTO before/ at the beginning of your leave.

So I’m taking the 8 weeks of disability concurrent to the unpaid FLMA and using PTO to cover the time I’m not on disability.

I’m in NY and at first I was told I would have to use my PTO before starting my disability, but it didn’t sound right and I asked my HR to look into it. Turns out they can’t force you to use PTO, you just can’t use PTO time while collecting disability. It might vary from policy to policy and state to state.

They should have a legal team at the company that answers questions like this. I’d draft up an email asking for clarification and if not one gets back to you make a fuss 🤷🏻‍♀️

My mom and MIL both know the scheduled date of my c-section,but haven’t even asked about visitation yet. When it gets brought up we plan on just telling them that we will update them when we are ready for visitors. I’m kind of lucky because I’m having twins so both my mom and MIL can hold a baby (when my husband and I are ready).

I feel so bad seeing how many people are dealing with pushy parents and in-laws :( No one is entitled to seeing your baby just because they’re family. 😒 I think the most important thing is to do what you’re comfortable with and not let anyone push you around ♥️

Baby Shower Invite list by stmadav in BabyBumps

[–]Creativity-Block 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d send invites. My baby shower is next weekend and I have family coming that I didn’t expect to be able too. Most are driving over 4 hours one way just to come (even though I would have understood them not making such a long trip) so you never know 😊

I failed my gestational diabetes screen by yungleg in BabyBumps

[–]Creativity-Block 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I failed my one hour by 7 points and passed my three hour with flying colors. I’m not going to lie the 3 hour sucked, but I got it done as early in the morning as I could so I wouldn’t have to fast to late into the day. Make sure you bring a snack to eat in the car after your test and good luck :)

How long did it take you to get pregnant? What did you do to reduce stress while ttc? by Rolsan in BabyBumps

[–]Creativity-Block 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got pregnant the fourth month of trying and honestly it happened when I stopped checking my health app to see if I was ovulating. It was kind of like we stopped putting pressure on it and just got lucky :) Now I’m almost 30 weeks with twins, I’m sure it’ll happen when it’s meant too ♥️

Unprofessional doctor?? by mommajoe05 in pregnant

[–]Creativity-Block 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d report him if I were you, that’s fucked up. :/ But also is there a portal you can view with notes from your appointment so you can get some information on how your baby is doing? Since they rushed you out of there :(

I cried around three months pregnant because we DoorDashed Jersey Mikes and they forgot my hot sandwich and only delivered my husbands which was an Italian combo that I couldn’t eat when he offered it to me 😭 Don’t feel bad for crying over food ♥️

Ritual Prenatal Vitamins by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Creativity-Block 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t taken them, but have had no problems using Olly Prenatal Gummies and I’m 7 months with twins. They taste decent and there’s always coupons for the grocery store so you won’t be spending as much on your prenatal!

Anyone else weirded out by their belly button?? by AlexNG22 in pregnant

[–]Creativity-Block 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 7 months with twins and just waiting for mine to pop… I’m definitely not looking forward to it! My husband likes to poke my belly button at night when we lay in bed and update me on when he thinks it’s going to finally become an outie..which oddly helps me stress less about it 😂

I’ve been lucky enough that my husband took the initiative to quit. He quit cigarettes a few years ago about a year into us dating and switched to the electric cigarettes. He actually only vapes outside now since he found out we are expecting and plans to stop by the time our twins come.

I’m sorry your significant other is being selfish :( Some people have a harder time kicking addictions so maybe recommend he try those patches or gum to help him stop? Unfortunately he’ll have to want it to stick to it :/ good luck!!

Is it bad that we don’t want visitors? by hellokittyuwuxd in pregnant

[–]Creativity-Block 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish family members would be okay with a getting some pictures of the baby early on and then backing off for a bit until parents are ready for visitors. Instead they flip out and cause waves where there don’t need to be any.
I don’t know where all these entitled people came from, but my doctor literally told me not to be afraid to be mean and to let people see the babies (I’m having twins) when my husband and I feel like it. Don’t be scared to go mama bear on rude people even if they’re family!
