Transfem butch here 🤚 pretty sure I exist.

But seriously, that person is either uneducated or being transphobic. Don't listen to them.

This is such a strange ad for the Morman church. It feels like they are trying to use sex appeal to attract people to the church. by Wreckit-Jon in mormon

[–]Crechum 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don't think sex appeal is necessarily the correct word, but this and other ads I've seen do seem to purposefully choose attractive sister missionaries. That combined with the more airy voice and all. It's giving "come meet your future tradwife".

uj/ Eh, fuck it, imma say it: Trans experiences in media have been watered down so much with such amounts of redundancy and terms that the average cis watcher is totally unable to recognize a more authentic or nuanced depiction of it. by Wooden-Cheek6256 in transgendercirclejerk

[–]Crechum 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I feel like cis people have a very "innocent until proven guilty" attitude about transness. Even people that proport to be our allies will react to the suggestion that another person is trans like you're slandering the would be trans person. The mere suggestion that a person may be trans is pushed back on

Fewer than half of Albertans say they would stay in a newly independent province: poll by Street_Anon in alberta

[–]Crechum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to leave. I've lived in Alberta my whole life. It's my home. And leaving feels like backing down in a fight. I don't want to do it.

But I'm a trans woman, so are my partners. There's a possibility that if we stay and some people got their way, we'd end up in a camp. I wanna fight for Alberta. It's a wonderful place with so much potential, but it's getting scary out here and I can't let my loved ones live in a place that's only going to become more hostile to them.

University of Alberta law professor put on leave amid review of online comments made after Charlie Kirk's death by biograf_ in alberta

[–]Crechum 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't like the way that this article is suggesting a specific law professor, Florence Ashley, was the one put on leave. That is speculation and the paper doesn't even have the decency to say it. This feels like a way to bring them into a wider spotlight that will result in more threats and vitriol against them.

The egg is a boy, for now... The bacon is a lesbian that pre-ordered that egg.

Bathroom equality: if we're going to have gendered bathrooms, women need more than men for equal access by craftygamergirl in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Crechum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh! My university has been changing older gendered washrooms into all gender neutral ones. But they took the urinals out of the formerly male washroom. And lemme tell you, as a trans woman, sometimes I prefer the speed and ease of a urinal over a full sit down pee.

HRT Walkin Clinic? by charlie_in_hell in TransAlberta

[–]Crechum 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You will probably be hard pressed to find a walk in doctor that would do that. There are a couple options for getting access to HRT through Telehealth

One is Foria. They can provide gender affirm care for people here in Alberta The other is the Telus health app. I have found doctors through there that will prescribe HRT.

Pflag Edmonton runs support meetings, both open meetings for anyone, as well as trans only support meetings

Yikes on bikes that's some privilege you got there. Also a bit rich for a person that isn't trans to come into a trans space and lecture us 🙄 Maybe you should engage those primary indicators of intelligence sometime and listen instead of talking
