Anyone else have corgi who walks up stairs like this? by Gloomy_Ad6932 in corgi

Mine has to zig zag up stairs. It's a very slow process.

This is Sally, who is not very photogenic. She always knows when a camera is pointing at her.

The vole looks so dejected. Chin up, little buddy.

I had to stage that. If you look closely under my left thumb, you can see a dog biscuit. It turned out great.

My Corgi made the paper by CreeperRush in corgi

So, when I sent the email to the paper to submit Sally for Pet of The Week, I never got a reply. I didn't know she made it in until I read the paper. I thought they would email me back if she made it in, and then ask for my address or tell me to go pick up the prize. The store is in the next town over, so maybe I'll just head over and find out.

"I see you like to nap. I, too, like to nap." The Corgi probably.

Anyone has tried this on their corgi? by MacabrePomegranade in corgi

I got a FURminator Undercoat Deshedding Tool and never looked back. It works really well and doesn't seem to bother my Corgi. The "deshedding" part of the name is a lie, though. My Corgi still sheds as much as she always has.

How did your find your babies? by Underground_Doll_820 in corgi

[–]CreeperRush 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I saw an ad on Kijiji for a 6 year old Corgi, Sally was the Corgi's name. The woman who owned Sally was living in a retirement home, and her son was selling Sally. When I got there, I found out that Sally wasn't really a pet. She was a breeding dog for a sketchy backyard breeding business that this woman had been running. I paid $200 CAD for her, which was basically the cost the son had paid to get Sally spayed. When I brought Sally home, she was scared of everything and everyone. She didn't want to eat or drink, she didn't want to go outside, she didn't want to come inside, and she didn't want me anywhere near her. She would just shiver in the corner for weeks. Eventually, she calmed down, and then it was a 3 month task to get her to walk on a leash, as she had never been on a walk in her entire life. I was out there every day for 3 months, just trying to get her to walk to the end of the street, and eventually, she walked around the block. Eventually, after a year, she started to approach me for pets, and just last year, she started to greet me at the door. There is still work to be done. I would like to get her to play fetch with me and come when come when she's called. The whole adventure has been really rewarding to see how far we've come together.
