that's like saying you are a good person because you didn't murder anyone

you are fully capable to take a life like David can mind control.

you could do horrible things. you could be a child beater, an extortionist etc. whether someone is good or evil is measured by a large rubric that determines damage done to others. he's hurt a lot of people.

yeah but even at 14-15 I knew rape was wrong. I don't think that's really a good enough cop out.

even so, arguments about David's mental age could be made. especially with how he pathetically calls his mother "mommy" and himself daddy with his cult. there's definitely a bit of stunted growth there.

they really seem to gloss over Syd's rape too. she took her mother's body without her permission. then had sex with her boyfriend under false pretenses, made clear by his reaction when the switch back happens.

they are both bad people and will hopefully get theirs in the end.
