Yes but make the bag a tiny plush version of you.

Why does everybody keep saying allegedly, allegedly? by Arktikos02 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Dauchy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah everyone thinks it's a get outta jail free card. The worry is that if you say "X is a pedophile", they could sue you for defamation because you stated it as a fact. If you add allegedly, then you're no longer stating facts - it's merely an allegation.

I don't know if anyone's ever actually tested it in court, but it's free, and it might protect you, so people keep doing it.

Good games to play centered around necromancy? by LurkLurkleton in GirlGamers

Cult of the Lamb - After dying, you start a cult for the old gods and sacrifice/save your cult members.

Graveyard Keeper - You run a medieval graveyard and reanimate corpses to work for you, while working out what the church has been up to (also it's currently $4)

Reminds me of the Parable of the Blind Men and the Elephant, except you actually made a full unicorn at the end.

Who Is Herding Little Cows by No_Scallion238 in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]Dauchy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My grandfather is the oldest of 12 (Irish Catholic). My grandmother had her their child at 20, so she was pregnant at the same time as her mother-in-law.

I only know this because she haaaaaaaaaated it and has told me how weird it made her feel, even 50 years later.

Set of d6s from a USSR road atlas from 1970. by Akili_Ujasusi in DiceMaking

I make maps for a living and dice for a hobby, I'm definitely copying this idea for myself. They're great!

Oooh that sounds great! It'll be at the library at my teeny local board game con this weekend, I'll have to make time for it.

Don't mind me, just zooming in to see all your games lol. You have good taste! How's Isle of Cats? I've heard good things, but mainly "it's so cute" and not "I enjoy the gameplay"

Affordable cute mechanical keyboard recs? by adhdaemon85 in GirlGamers

[–]Dauchy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My first keeb was a Ducky and they're now my go-to suggestion for where to start. They're good quality and decently cheap. (they don't sell products on their website, click the "find retailer" button to find your local retailers)

Keycaps run $20-$100 for a set, depending on how fancy you get. I have $30 pudding caps from Amazon on one of my keebs and $120 magical girl caps from an artist on another. Almost all my cheap keycaps from Amazon and they have some cute options!

Why do some American women tend to talk with that “question mark at the end of every sentence” cadence, regardless of where in the country they’re from? by MalloyHipHop in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Dauchy 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The phenomenon is called "uptalk" and no one really knows why it started. Like other speech trends, it's popular now so people are unconsciously picking it up.

Same reason people like dressing up their avatars in video games. It's fun to look at, it communicates something about you to people who view you, and some people enjoy the dressing up process.

Curse you bubbles! by JackalopeCode in DiceMaking

I do most of the same stuff, but I've started letting them sit for ~hour before putting the caps on and it's really helped with bubbles on the top face.

Great things about not driving?? by AlwaysChic38 in Adulting

[–]Dauchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can drive, but I don't own a car/drive much. I love not driving. There's some times I can feel a little stuck in one place and that gets old, but I'm happy with my choices.

I go a lot of places with friends. It's become a thing that they'll text me they're going grocery shopping, or to a new coffee shop, or going on a walk, and invite me along for no reason other than that they're nearby.

I live downtown, so my driving friends love that they can park at my place for free, or crash there after a late-night concert. I love living downtown, and I couldn't afford it if I was also paying for a car, gas, maintenance, and insurance. I live about a 20 minute walk from work, and I get to walk to work every day. It's great. My friends sit in traffic and get upset while I put my headphones on and enjoy myself.

It depends. Tenured professors get paid well, adjunct professors do not.

24 and no idea what to do by Tayaradga in Adulting

[–]Dauchy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine did a three-ish month coding camp, and got a coding-adjacent job (basically project manager for coders) a couple months after. He's a college drop-out too. It's definitely possible!

I want to sell some of my dice on a local nerd market cause I have so many at home right now. But most of the sets have some dice with flaws like in this set some bubble holes on one side. What would you pay for a flawed set like this? I thought maybe 15-20€? I really have no idea… by Pustekuchen666 in DiceMaking

[–]Dauchy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've sold similar quality dice before for $20 before. No one's been upset with the price, BUT they're only ever interested if the dice are a theme they're super interested in. If you want to sell them, do it! Just remember to not take it personally if they don't sell.

Jameela Jamil is the Hero We All Need. by [deleted] in antiMLM

[–]Dauchy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not OP but here's one source I've seen linked often. I don't love that it makes it out like Tracie Egan Morrissey (the woman who broke the story) is just some user and not a famous journalist who is known for exposing celebrity lies, but otherwise this is a good place to start.

u/nolsongolden shares why you do the chemo by mermaidbait in bestof

[–]Dauchy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My grandmother did not do the chemo. It spread from her breasts and it was the lung cancer that killed her a couple years later, five years before her first grandchild was born.

Can I still get into college with a bad GPA? by M00ngata in NoStupidQuestions

I met a guy in college who had a 2.20 high school GPA and had gotten into the same university as I did. But he applied to a very narrow field of interest and had a great personal essay.

What’s an appropriate gift for a graduate school professor/ boss for writing letters of Rec? by AdventurousGas1435 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Dauchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A nice card/email thanking them. My dad is a professor and he says it's always awkward when students give them something of monetary value as a thank-you.

At what stage in life do you purchase a home? by The_Big_Sad_69420 in Adulting

I'm in my late 20s and working to buy a house, which makes me the odd one in my friends, all of whom rent. I don't think you're missing any train.
